Herorhim Posted June 26, 2019 #1 Posted June 26, 2019 I know not many people like talking about mental health, but people need to know that mental health is just as important as your physical health. Many people I know and me have mental health issues. I believe that being supportive and getting the right help is needed for everyone to be the best they can be. Depression is something I've personally been suffering with for the best 5 years. Some days its worse then others. Some days it feels like nothing will get better, while others I feel perfectly fine. I have learned through my experience that you must tell others about your issues and how they effect you. With that, you will be able to become a healthier person through the care and support of the others around you. Although my depression hasn't been fully fixed, it is still much better then 2 years ago when I tried to take my own life. At that point, it felt like nothing could possibly get better and that there was no one who cared about you. After the incident, I learned just how much people cared about me. How much they loved me. How much they appreciate me being there. With this in mind, I have tried the past 2 years to make myself better in order to help the people around me. Things like therapy and being active have helped a lot and being able to know that there are people out there who do indeed care gives you a lot of hope that you can get better. If you or someone you know is suffering from depression, please speak up. Don't wait until it is too late. Help yourself or others as much as you can. Always know that there is someone who cares, there is someone who loves you, and someone who needs you. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: (800)-273-TALK or (800) 273-8255 This line is open 24 hours a day and gives you support that you need in order to help. Please don't be a bystander, if you see someone with mental health issues, help them as much as you can. Let them know that people care! Because someone always cares.
polor12 Posted June 26, 2019 #2 Posted June 26, 2019 here's is the thing about mental health.. some people do get diagnose with mental health issues.. and some get label as having mental health issues because of their actions... it can be acquired by traumatic events growing up or injury.... it is just a general term to use for something that doctors dont understand.... matter or fact that term has been new.. the old term was crazy..this subject is really sensitive.. and i can actually go on about the term or diagnosing a person with mental issues. but it will be too long..
9lives Posted June 26, 2019 #3 Posted June 26, 2019 That is totally true. I am suffering through the same thing. Depression is not fun. Unfortunately more and more people are getting depression though. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is a good source to have but at the same time it can actually make things worse for you as well. The people you talk to are not professionals and they don't work with any company. It is just someone who has volunteered. A little over a year ago, I was seriously contemplating taking my life too. I called the hotline and spoke to someone for about 30 minutes or so and I'm assuming the issue I was going through maybe threw them back into depression because they told me that they are sorry but they can no longer speak to me about my situation, they are going to connect me to someone else and then they hung up. At that moment I thought to myself wow even the Suicide hotline can't even talk to me and that's what cause me to attempt taking my life. That hotline could be good or it could make the situation worse.
barbaris Posted June 26, 2019 #4 Posted June 26, 2019 Of course, such lines and communication definitely help people in need, but this is temporary therapy. You need to find the root of the problem and get rid of it forever. But such specialists are extremely few. My friend suffered from depression for a very long time and he learned that in China there is a person who treats such things. After 2 months, he returned from there completely different. And now, after 7 years, I have never seen him in poor condition. Now he is enjoying life and looking for positive aspects in everything.
lupandina Posted June 26, 2019 #5 Posted June 26, 2019 Did you noticed, that depression is pretty popular topic/thing between gamblers? I just still can't understand, which of - depression and gambling - is the reason, and which the result

I just still can't understand, which of - depression and gambling - is the reason, and which the result It's also super popular among people spending much time on the computer. I saw a (totally unrelated) talk with a huge audience were towards the end the referee asked who suffered from depression issues right now or had those in the last years and half of the room stood up. He then was like "See? You are not alone! >ll of these people you can talk with and potentially exchange experiences on treating it. It's just a popular sickness like many other things."

Some might get into the gambling platform because of depression.. yet some gotten into depression because of gambling issues. I guessed its all about how strong our mindset is and practicing self control is extremely important if you want to end your day with a smile as it plays a vital role on the outcome of your gambling session. Remember, do NOT ragebet or else you will end up crying yourself to sleep.

I don't see anything wrong with that logic. If the doctor diagnoses you with something because you are coughing or you have certain pains, it's normal, right? Since we can't see into someone's thoughts, is it illogical to diagnose people through their actions, especially if they are seeking medical help?

That's quite right. No doctor can help you with your mental state. You are the only one that can help yourself. I recommend you do that by start watching RSD (real social dynamics) videos on YouTube.
Chimichanga Posted July 31, 2019 #10 Posted July 31, 2019 After the routine work, from which you get not only profit, but also stress, depression, it is desirable, for example, to remain on the street in a sparsely populated park. And on weekends there are mandatory trips to nature or the occupation of a favorite hobby. And then you will spend less time with your doctor.
pokerdoker99 Posted August 2, 2019 #11 Posted August 2, 2019 Hanging out at the park can be really helpful for your mental health yea, try meditating also. Learn how to let go from things that are disturbing you. This will also help alot
Aazzah Posted August 5, 2019 #12 Posted August 5, 2019 hey herorhim. I suffer from mental health.. I have several mental health problems and I am on medication to help it. The way I calm down is i get a drink, sit down, and just watch some youtube. That's my way of calming down
Basant89 Posted August 19, 2019 #13 Posted August 19, 2019 Well stress might led to bad mental health for gamblers at least. You need to be sure of how much you gamble both in terms of time and money. If you normally play with the extra amount in the idle time it might not be that harmful but if your main source of income is gambling then you might need regular check-up for the same. Mental health is really important that it is kept in good condition.

Need necessarily to pay attention on the subject always and all!!! Be healthy mentally and physically!!!

ostarynin Posted September 14, 2019 #17 Posted September 14, 2019 Depression is a common thing I think if you lose a lot of money you're not going to be happy.
Remmik Posted September 19, 2019 #18 Posted September 19, 2019 Yes, mental health is also very important, but I have no problems with it.
ostarynin Posted September 19, 2019 #19 Posted September 19, 2019 I agree that psychological health is as important as physical. There are times when you get depressed and don't want to do anything at such times. My relatives usually help me.😀
ooleg Posted September 19, 2019 #20 Posted September 19, 2019 Yes, mental health is very important. When you lose a lot of money you can enter a depressive state
