Goldman Sachs Hinting About Getting Into Crypto

Okay, now I have seen everything.  Long time mainstream investment bank Goldman Sachs is hinting about getting into crypto because of its potential to "disrupt" the financial industry.  Holy smoke!  For years they have been screaming ponzi and now they are jumping in.

Their cynicism is exceeded only by their arrogance, anyone could have told them that blockchain was potentially revolutionary, and Bitcoin as a censorship proof protocol has merit.

Granted they appear more focused on token and stable coins, but still, I'm calling this a major win over the traditional Wall Street haters!

I would consider this legit only if they actually go through with it. I have seen so many companies makes so called hints over time and investing a dime at the end of the day. Lets see if they actually invest or not.

I think in the back ground more companies are involved in crypto without we knowing it. remember once about 2 years ago. A major USA investment company screamed out BTC to be a scam which led to a small crash of BTC of 30% overnight. 2 weeks later someone found out that exactly the same company purchased 1 million $ in BTC when the crash was at the bottom and made huge profits after BTC recovered and pumped another 25% of its value.

I think a lot of companies are in it already and they use their name to influence the price by posting posting as well as negative news.

It’s just a matter of time and soon all financial companies will join cryptography. Because everyone loves money and does not want to stay behind. But for many, it may be probably too late.

I think they have already planned their move into cryptocurrency for quite some time now but they were well initially downplaying it or even stating the opposites of their intention in the first place by bashing Bitcoin's volatility.

All those banks announcing their involvement into cryptocurrency is something I worry about. I don't like that. Cryptocurrency is in opposition to fiat currency and banking system. It supposed to be alternative.

Those are good news for the ecosystem but a very bad new for xrp from Ripple as they are, as far as I know, or use to be, the option for the banks to get along cryptos in this new decentralized economic era.  Suddenly, with Libra comes many opportunities for all banks to create cryptos.  Blockchain has proven that is a technology all companies handling data can trust, and if you take a look beyond you will see the opportunity to be part in the crypto ecosystem.  Baked on fiat,  maybe those new coins will never represent the reason why we all are here, that is decentralization.... Those coins bank backed will keep the same pattern and profile of a regular fiat money....you will see.  My opinion.  Good luck.

It would not surprise me at all - JP Morgan has been very involved in the development of their own blockchains-- including a concept known as zero knowledge proofs -- one can only imagine what will happen to the development of the blockchain once big money gets their techs on it. Insofar it has been relatively commercial development.
