GKD09 Posted July 2, 2019 #1 Posted July 2, 2019 I was just wondering how indulged you guys are in the forum. To be honest I barely ever read the proceeding comments after I have commented on a topic, unless I am quoted or tagged in, that's when I open that topic again. I barely ever comment more than once on most topics, unless it's my own topic. The main reason being no one really reads the previous comments before replying to that topic, so all I see is the same answer by many many users, which annoys me especially when I have given a valid reason or at least something to discuss on, BUT no, no one reads it, sometimes not even the user who made the topic. I always make it a habit to read the previous comments, to see what the discussion holds and also to check if anyone else has stated what I want to say, and if they do I don't just repeat it, unless I have something to add. I understand if it is a long thread like 3 to 5 pages, then it'll be hard to go through all comments, but ones with just one page and up to several comments, is it that hard to read? I also love the fact that people come to a topic just to say they don't know the answer with absolutely no input to the discussion As a matter of fact, if you typed these answers just to "low-key spam" or just get credited, just read a few comments, then at least you will have some more to say and unintentionally help the discussion as well These are all the reasons I don't go back to the topic unless and until I am tagged or quoted in. Do you guys also get annoyed when you see such comments, I've noticed this several times here on the forum, and it happened today again and hence the post. PRO TIP: If you are genuinely want to reply to something or someone just tag them or quote the particular message.
Qvvaser109 Posted July 2, 2019 #2 Posted July 2, 2019 Yeah, I'm a forum/discussion/topic enthusiast. I read most comments on any topic I've commented on. I read and try to respond to EVERY comment on a topic I posted. I also noticed that it is rare to find a long standing, deep conversation here. Obvious reasons are the cause of that. I'm down to discuss or debate anything, anytime, anywhere with as many yay or naysayers as the server can handle. I value everyone's input.
GKD09 Posted July 2, 2019 Author #3 Posted July 2, 2019 Same! If I create a topic I definitely read all of them, I may not reply to some which clearly don't need any reply though. I used to try and read other peoples topics where I have commented but these above reasons made me pretty fed up. Glad to see some other user who actually reads.
ceastem Posted July 3, 2019 #4 Posted July 3, 2019 I read every comment there is if it has 1-2 pages. If something with 10+ pages, I stick to the first and last page. HAHA I once experienced something where I posted my million hit on limbo. People kept on asking how many rolls I did, how long it took, etc. It was included in the original post and I answered it once or twice in the comments but still, they ask for it. I don't really know if people here are just skimming on posts then comments without fully realizing the meaning of the post. Haha
nuuuitsjdragon Posted August 9, 2019 #5 Posted August 9, 2019 Sometimes yes, sometimes no! To be really honest, I read most things seriously when I first started. However, seeing as most people don’t even read or reply correctly to the topic at hand and won’t even make the effort to farm satoshi properly - Makes me give up when I see some of the nonsensical topics > prompting me to not read any of the replies on that thread lol.
