Did you really think asking Eddie for coupons in chat would work?

Sooooooo. I've noticed that more and more people have begun to immediately barrage Eddie with coupon and rain requests after he posts only one message in chat. Sometimes, within seconds as if they had their beggar's pitch already typed and they were hovering the send button waiting for him. I am not exactly sure how coupons are decided but I know that they are not created on the spot for individuals for the asking. I'm going to risk sounding like an a**kisser here but I think it's cool when Eddie pops in to chat it up with us. I don't blame him for one second when he says "hello" and then not another message, not even a "goodbye". Who would want to hang out with a bunch of vultures?

My advice to those that think this behavior is acceptable..... It's not. Instead, try adding some value to the site and/or community rather than just taketaketake. In any situation, here or anywhere, those who create value are valued. The rest should be self explanatory.

haha no.... a lot of people will say many things to eddie if he is in chat or not.. i mean they can ask and even demand for it.. do you really think eddie would cave in.. or give a second thought.. demanding, asking, requesting for those things to the owner.. hahaha..  he rains when he wants to and send out coupons when he wants to..  he is open to some request that would improve the gaming site.. or improve the service for the customers.. but some people forgot that the rains and coupons are perks that we players have for playing here.. they really dont need to give those stuff to us.. but they wanted to,..

Yea that must be really annoying getting barraged with beggars asking for handouts. First off you never ask those types of questions in a group setting because if he was to ever give a coupon out then everyone would really be up his ass.

I just don't get people and what goes through there heads when they haven't spent a dime of there own money and do nothing but beg and roach off rains and all the free coins. The funny part is I bet most of those leachers have plenty of money sitting in their bank, there just too cheap to spend it and would rather mooch off other players or beg the staff.

Beggars will never change their mentality. They are everywhere and only focus on acquiring money in whatever way possible. Its quite embarrassing to be honest since I have observed quite a few people doing this in the chat room in recent time.

I couldn't agree more @Qvvaser109.  Some folks will try any and everything to get a free handout.  How do these people not know that the worst thing you can possibly do is ask or beg for something like that.  Stake is already very generous to us players in a lot of ways, but some just can't help themselves from this type of behavior.

Yeah gotta agree 100% on this. The fact that the owner comes to the site almost daily to chat with us - not just say hello but read some of our comments and even reply back. Clearly in these online casinos with no real bouncers or security gives the freedom for lurking beggars to wait for rains and other free coins, but asking from the owner who already gives a lot it simply rude.

Like appreciate what he gives and stfu when he doesn't. He even live streamed during a race with around 100 viewers on his twitch. I was going about asking how old he is, where hes from and that I thought he would be older, and then there are people commenting asking what the keyword is, or if there are any giveaways at all? -.-

Worst of all being that they don't just leave when they notice that there are no giveaways, but they have to say few words and then leave.... I really don't understand where some of these guys come from and what they think before saying stuff. But I am kind of used to this having been on online casinos for many years now :/ It's sad!

This is not what ass kissing is, this is basic values that some people here don't have, that we have to talk about. :(

Yups totally agree with your sentiments here Qwaser. This is definitely not a acceptable behavior from those that keeps on barraging the demands of coupon incessantly on Eddie right at the moment he pops up on chat.

‘Gratitude’ derives from the Latin gratia, which, depending on the context, translates either as ‘grace’, ‘graciousness’, or ‘gratefulness’. Gratitude never came easily to us men, and is a diminishing virtue in modern times. In our consumerist society, we tend to focus on what we lack, or on what other people have that we do not, whereas gratitude is the feeling of appreciation for what we already have. More than that, it is the recognition that the good in our life can come from something that is outside us and outside our control—be it other people, nature, or a higher power—and that owes little or nothing to us. Gratitude is not a technique or a stratagem, but a complex and refined moral disposition.

Despite the great and many benefits that it confers, gratitude is hard to cultivate. It is opposed to some deeply ingrained human traits, in particular, our striving to better our lot, our need to feel in control of our destiny, our propensity to credit ourselves for our successes while blaming others for our failures, and our unconscious belief in some sort of cosmic equality or justice. In short, we find it hard to cultivate gratitude because, more and more, we seek to exist as independent individuals rather than as a social collective, and gratitude undermines our ego illusion.

As human nature does not leave much place for it, gratitude is an attainment of maturity, or, to be more precise, emotional maturity, which can arrive at any age or, more commonly, not at all. Thus, children who are taught to parrot ‘thank you’ mean it even less than their parents do. Indeed, many adults express gratitude, or a semblance of gratitude, simply because doing so is useful or the ‘done thing’. Gratitude is good manners, and good manners aim at aping profundity when profundity is lacking.

In contrast, real gratitude is a rare virtue.

Asking for coupons and rains is a blatant begging, I hope users who do this get muted right away. If this behavior continues Eddie might stop popping on chat and have less interaction with Stake users.

Posted

i dont think so, because its kinda like a begging , and Stake doesn't like people who was begging even its passive or active :D . i thought we dont have to asking eddie for coupons. they gonna give us if there was an event or maybe like releasing XRP in a few days ago

I have never done this and never will. It wont work. If anything it will make him less likely i reckon. I think it is ridiculous on how people ask him for coupons...

Posted

Of course that will not work lol. If I were Eddie, I would just mute them for a few days. I think people just think Eddie will give them free money simply because he is rich, but that is just not how things work.

Beggars are everywhere not only on stake, however people who beg probably are not even registered here on the forum and will probably never even read your message lmao I don't think there is anything else that can be done beside just kicking these people out or muting them. There is so begging on stake chat - that is instant mute and hey this rule works. I have not seen beggars in a long time. Maybe same rules should apply on twitch.

PS When it comes to stake chat probably we don't see beggars anymore since they introduced the rule that in order to be allowed to talk in chat you need at least wedged $100. That is very strict maybe even to strict though. $100 is a huge sum for a noobie.

I think this is a great rule since it limits spam in the chatroom and the beggars will basically look in other places. The limit is optimal in my opinion and I was able to chat quite quickly before I knew it.

Dude, Every time Eddie pops in to chat he is hit up immediately for coupons by several people. Some passive and some downright aggressive. During these times I have not seen even one of them get muted. They slide through the commotion and chaos that ensues after Eddie initiates a rain or just says hello.

Oh yes, I think the beggars do not give rest to Eddie as soon as he writes something in the chat. I dislike asking for anything and never did it, so I do not understand this behavior. And in the end he owes nothing to anyone. I have never seen anything like this happening in real casinos.

I never thought you had bad English. There are many that speak perfect English that don't understand my sense of humor. Thank you for your nice words, ma'am.

Yeah. Join the various social media channels and you will find the giveaways happen regularly. Here at the forum too.

This is the link to the forum thread that explains what you need to know.

Asking for free hand outs hardly ever works. That being said, many people asking are VIP's who are either overdue for one or they're just busted and broke. Regardless of the reason, asking in chat is by far the worst place to do it. Not only will it get overlooked/ignored (by accident mostly) but it will only make non-VIP players wonder about it and likely ask for one too.

I am the same way. It is hard for me to ask people for anything. Very hard. I just recently asked Eddie for a comp in a PM on Telegram after a moderately expensive losing streak. I had reason to believe that this was acceptable..... After writing and deleting the request about ten times I finally said "screw it" and hit the send button. My face felt red and I put my phone face down and felt embarrassed to even look at his reply. I was sure he would say yes but that didn't change how unnatural it felt. After 20 minutes working on other tasks I worked up the courage to re-open Telegram... LOL. Eddie is very generous and values all of us beyond what any other casino owner does..... Between you and me, Eddie even told me to hit him up again before the races but there was no way I was going to ask twice so I didn't.

Lol yeah you really right my friend. Sadly I don't see how thing could get better except if all were muted for one week or two. That would be amazing if chat was cleaned from any beggar for a long time.

I liked when the usual rains after challenge has suspended after that spam went crazy after a challenge. But since a dedicated channel has been launched for challenges I feel like it's more affordable. Bc if one don't want to deal with it he can just switch to main channel.

But what you say is right it's stupid and unacceptable. The worse is that with new rain algo spamming won't help at all to get rain. But I guess they ( the spammers) feels like they has a little power to get rain with spamming. In fact they couldn't be more wrong. I notice that lately the more long was your post in chat the more likely to receive rain you were so in fact it's the opposite... But we'll spammers aren't the smartest people. I'm pretty sure most of them are barely grown people and even if we bam all them they will come back or others will take their place...

I think this behavior is commendable and you have nothing to be ashamed of it. So we were raised correctly. If there were more such people, the world would probably become cleaner and live much better. Good luck to you mate.

Not really, Eddie gives coupons once he's able to, I guess. Also he did give away tons of coupons and stuff. Also some coupons depends on marketing stuff so I would still say no.
