Lillyflow Posted July 6, 2019 #1 Posted July 6, 2019 Recently people have evoked much thought in my mind regarding habitual gaming vs hobby gaming. I realized that until it is not seen as a naughty thing to do, it might be tricky to proudly declare your loyalty to ANY casino. Know what I mean? In this regard, I think marketing efforts are especially delicate for gaming related clientele. Why ? Because when you are having dinner with your family and you get an email with a coupon for Stake racing ... chances are your family does not know that you are looking forward to a few hours of max betting and zoning into a plinko game or hi lo card rounds. In fact, they might not even know you are a crypto user at all. Often when it comes time to tweet for bonuses and other sharing tactics in marketing ... it tends to fall a little flat because most people will use an alt twitter account to share such things because they dont want their mother in law to be in the same feed as the busted, grr, shitfuckcocksuckerbadwords crowd. Interestingly enough... I finally talked about the hush hush topic in my podcast. Why do I feel like any moment I will be sent to the principals office for smoking a cigarette.... when I am ALLOWED to gamble and I am a G R O W N woman. lol Am I alone in this ? Talk to me.
CntryBoy Posted July 6, 2019 #2 Posted July 6, 2019 Hahaha! Very well said, and you are most definitely not alone in this! Although I only have 1 Twitter account, and it is used mainly for all things crypto and sports, so I do not have to worry about my mother-in-law (though I do not have one) seeing my Tweets about racing on Stake, I can imagine exactly what you are talking about. Although, most of my family is into gambling, in fact it's their fault that I enjoy gambling so much, I can surely see where you're coming from as far as being hush hush about it even though it is legal and we are grown ass adults... lol.
arielg443 Posted July 6, 2019 #3 Posted July 6, 2019 I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on this lol. I guess I never really thought about gambling being "hush-hush".. You're post gave a different perspective on the whole subject. I don't talk to my family much about gambling or cryptos. Not many of my family members gamble and even less know what cryptos even are lol. Tried talking to a few of them about cryptos a few different times, but mostly was only returned with puzzled looks at the most. 😂 On that same note, things aren't at the point that I am afraid or nervous to post things on social media or what not to avoid them seeing. Nor have I ever thought of making new social media accounts to do so.. I can hardly remember the passwords and such for the social media accounts I have now, so I know I definitely couldn't keep up with multiple accounts on social media platforms. 😂

Haha love the way you express things I suddenly felt like I was listening to you in your stream Anyways, I feel the exact same as you. I'm not comfortable by any means to mention this to my family or even some friends. Definitely not my parents! To be honest yes, I don't even use twitter, but yet when I made a sort of "gaming one" for giveaways etc, I made sure I never added any of my friends They may think I'm weird sharing a stupid online race. One day my dad walked in to my room while I was in the bathroom and he saw the forum opened and saw "casino/gambling". Then he asked me what this was... and since it was the forum I quickly said ummm nothing just like discussions about Bitcoin and its fluctuating prices and evaded an awkward convo lol. The only person that knows my gambling situation and I can talk to is my brother. Yes I may sound young but I am legal but probably not G R O W N enough, for the rest of the people to know. Until then I am a man undercover
DaDude Posted July 6, 2019 #5 Posted July 6, 2019 gambling has always been a social taboo and will continue to be so imo for some time to come.... if not for ever ever ever
williamshennie9 Posted July 6, 2019 #6 Posted July 6, 2019 You're definitely not alone. I only have a few friends which gamble with me where I am honest about my gambling activities. Most of my friends don't actually know that I gamble regularly lol.
wry Posted July 6, 2019 #7 Posted July 6, 2019 Gambling is pretty widespread, note how it is often referred to by the industry as "gaming", but internet crypto gambling will probably be hush hush for quite some time. There is a reason Stake blocks accounts from the USA and many other countries from playing, it's illegal or at least potentially illegal. So until that changes I expect it will remain hush hush for quite some time and would advise major caution on social media.
Etude Posted July 6, 2019 #8 Posted July 6, 2019 I do not think so that gambling will ever be generally view as a healthy hobby if ever since well it does so very often triggers impulsiveness during both winning and losing in gambling sessions. One of the main factor for this would also be the involvement of money and how easy is it for to lose the money in gambling.

I also often gamble, hide from my family, only my best friend knows about my games, and together with me he also began to show interest in games
barbaris Posted July 7, 2019 #10 Posted July 7, 2019 My whole family knows that I do cryptocurrency, but what it is and how it works, no one is interested to learn. But honestly, I am even calmer. It was easier for me to tell once what I was doing, so that they lost interest, than to constantly answer a bunch of questions.
Etude Posted July 9, 2019 #11 Posted July 9, 2019 Well compulsive gambling have so often caused so much troubles in terms of relationships and money to some people and families out there where the addiction tends to spiral out of control. This is often what portrays gambling as a unhealthy activity when things goes really bad.
nhoyasim101 Posted July 9, 2019 #12 Posted July 9, 2019 ow such a good topic to read, just like a few weeks back i am alone at the office sitting in front of my pc, the door suddenly open, one of department head came in, he was slightly viewed my monitor, he asked are you treading? coz i am in exchange at that time,, i told him yes i am,, he offer me to trade usd/yen or usd/euro he though that i am trading in fiat money, i told him that i am in cryptocurrency and he suddenly bucked off. lol my family don't know about crypto few friend are starting to learn crypto but damn they are afraid to gamble in gambling.
