Paecga129 Posted July 11, 2019 #1 Posted July 11, 2019 So I was online when the 7 billion bet was taking place and I was really surprised that not many people were online trying for it. I mean what an amazing prize. I think the issue was not many people were really interested because the odds weighed against the prize were not very appealing. I think a very good percentage of people are only betting a smaller amount .... usually 1000 satoshi or so which is what the winner was betting. So his prize came out to be 100k satoshi. I think it would be much better if Stake offered a prize like a guaranteed .01 for the winning bet as long as betting minimum of 1000 satoshi or something like that. This would probably have brought the hype for the event a lot more ! What do you all think ?
try7dlyk Posted July 11, 2019 #2 Posted July 11, 2019 5 winners would be great with 100k sat each with no minimum bet and special prize with bets up to 1 btc.
rajamishra Posted July 11, 2019 #3 Posted July 11, 2019 hello @Paecga129 its true if something bigger than imagine then the hype of competition more excitement.also the time its reach most of countries odd time, user are more often slept that's the reasons for less players.i am also missed the challenge when its came.
Aazzah Posted July 11, 2019 #4 Posted July 11, 2019 I reckon they should of done it like last time. the 5 after the 6 billionth bet should of gotten rewarded. Maybe 100k sats each as the guy above me said but yeah... They should've made it like this and perhaps they would of gotten a ton more hype and attention to the site I hope they do this for the 8 billionth bet
1RegisterNow Posted July 11, 2019 #5 Posted July 11, 2019 Actually he won 1k sat not 100k because its x100 multiplied by profit not wager. I think this is 5th in a row another low price i've seen with this structure of prizes, usually winners win below minimal tip. I think it should be changed, added some requirements to bets and payouts or games, otherwise people still will be winning dust.

I think that so many more people would have flocked to the site to make an attempt at making a small bet and winning a huge prize which is after all what most people are looking for.
peel1 Posted July 11, 2019 #7 Posted July 11, 2019 i tryed for it but as you can see in my poster about the odds most people realize its a pipe dream and dont bother
HighDamage Posted July 11, 2019 #8 Posted July 11, 2019 I also saw that, very few were active. In my opinion this is because the reward given is fair enough to avoid the ALT who gets it (because it requires good luck + large capital) and also remembers, that multiplied by 100x is the profit. not the base bet (so ALT is difficult to get this profit)
GKD09 Posted July 11, 2019 #9 Posted July 11, 2019 Heya Paegca, Yeah I totally agree. In fact, during the 6th billionth bet when I was very very new here, I thought the one who hits the 6,000,000,000 bet wins 1 BTC Thinking about it, its a jackpot, but yeah that is why I was so into it and was trying to stay awake to try and test my luck. Unfortunately I slept with some auto bet on and when I woke up the auto had stopped and I also lost a lot of my balance. I was really pissed. Coming close to the 7th billionth, I realised that it only is a 100x the profit/loss on that bet which was a huuuge turn off. Made me feel stupid trying to hit it when I was pretty new since I didn't have much to hit it with even and had I hit it, it would be equivalent to a trivia or stream tip I definitely think this would grab more attention, and yes have a minimum bet that is fine, but the winner (with so much luck to even hit that bet) deserves a bigger reward, without having to risk so much with barely a realistic chance of hitting it. Also I was still trying to stay awake and around 3 mil before the billion to come I decided to sleep only because I had known this. So from the two mindsets, of having a fixed price for the billionth bet and not, clearly shows the intentions of participation.
kiziah Posted July 11, 2019 #10 Posted July 11, 2019 Yeah :< so people will get hyped when the prize is fixed. 0.01 BTC prize of minimum bet 1000 satoshi.

I mean to be honest I don’t even think there should be a bet minimum. I think the person should have to have been active at the site for at least a month or something like that. Other than that I don’t think there should be any other stipulations or minimum bets. This would avoid people making a million alt accounts in attempt to win.
FotisNt Posted July 11, 2019 #12 Posted July 11, 2019 It would be better this way indeed! But the prize can be huge! Literally. Although there are many wins with low wager or no base bets at all. So due to this, I think that there should be more prizes aswell.

Like 7,000,000,000 - 7,000,000,010 or something cool like that. That would def draw in a bigger crowd too. When people feel like their odds are better they are gonna make sure they are here.
williamshennie9 Posted July 11, 2019 #14 Posted July 11, 2019 I would be nice to offer a guaranteed minimum prize. But then I think the potential for abuse is elevated even more than it is with the current system of 100x your bet. I guess they could look int it though.

I think there are a lot of things they can do to stop the abuse of it though. Now that I think of it, I don’t think that Stake is really too concerned about bringing people in as they most def do a lot of giveaways and what not that being people in like on telegram

I believe there should have been a guaranteed prize with some sort of min bet requirement. How many players can afford to roll 10k sats or more per roll trying to hit that magic bet, and at least get a 0.01btc prize? I would wager that the vast majority of players were rolling around 1k sats or less.
Enzo Posted July 12, 2019 #17 Posted July 12, 2019 Actually as far as I can tell, the problem with the giveaway was that enough players did not understand the rules and requirements of it. So therefore they didn't maximize the potential winnings. That or the lucky person just happened to be a smaller better and not a high roller. Imagine if a high roller hit it with a 0.005 btc bet LOL
bobdole Posted July 12, 2019 #18 Posted July 12, 2019 Yeah it's kinda lame when this happens because getting to the next billionth bet doesn't happen very often and when the prize is advertised as up to 1 btc it's a let down when the winner actually wins almost nothing. I think it would be better to have just a set prize amount for whoever hits the billionth bet since it's rare to hit and won't be ruined by someone betting so low.
