Sped Posted July 17, 2019 #1 Posted July 17, 2019 I have never been one to take breaks or set a certain time limit with my gambling, i just usually go until I rip or make profit. simple. However, a lot of people recently have been saying to take breaks and I'm trying to understand. So, Stake community, if you take breaks what are the purposes of this, to try and cool your emotions, or maybe because you feel you win more after clearing your head. That is the only advantage I can see, but then again I've never tried it so I wouldn't know. So, what is the purpose of setting a time limit, or taking breaks?

The closest thing to a break that I have done was when I win a huge amount of cash and I go downstairs to tell my brother and stuff. But that isn't really a break in my opinion that is more of out of excitement and just releasing some energy. But no I do not at all create time/break times. that is honest to god the most closest thing to taking a break I do! Lol!

However in recent days I tried to test it and took a break when I feel I'm going to begin to loose. So I kept my balance for a while, but then when I came back I busted anyway. I guess you have luck and you win or you don't. There is absolutely no difference for probability if you take break or not. However it might be wise to change games often and change the amount you bet, change the behaviour in the game by from time to time betting something out of ordinary the move that you wouldn't normally do. Sometimes it works, most of the case however I get busted even faster. lol

So I do not have any definite time limits for which I take to the game. I think it makes no sense to set yourself a framework. When you have a mood you need to play.

Limits are the most important of all, if you go beyond that you will end at bottom of the deep bust ocean, that is for sure. I like to take breaks very often, no matter if I am going through a green or red path, breaks makes me clear my mind and rest my greed. This is only my opinion. Good luck.
polor12 Posted July 18, 2019 #6 Posted July 18, 2019 yes when i still have balance ill keep going and going.. when i dont have balance ill wait awhile when rain comes around then i go again again.. repeat same process over and over again.. till i get tired and fall asleep. then start over again the next day

Oh I try for sure but I never ever ever follow them !! Like ever. Haha. I say at 2pm I am gonna far offline and do my errands and such and than it’s 3pm and I’m going son of a. Hahaha

skrubreker Posted July 18, 2019 #9 Posted July 18, 2019 I never set a time for gambling, Most of the time i think of a number i want to stop and and when i reach it i cashout ofcourse i lose most of the time but you should always set a limit when you want to stop otherwise you lose everyting everytime.

jualid Posted July 19, 2019 #14 Posted July 19, 2019 Usually yes, i set a limit on profit like if i reach the target profit that i want, i will stop and take a break. About how much is the limit, it's depend on how big my bankroll is, mostly is 10% of my bankroll.

And maybe in the afternoon I check again if new bets are added. But thats actually it for my sport betting. Mostly I have my software running that automatically place my sport bets. During my poker gambling I have my longest sessions. In weekends when there are the major tournaments online then it sometimes happens that I have poker sessions of 12 up to 16 hours. When I am playing on stake I mostly have autobet or bot running. So I sometimes have sessions of several hours but its done automatically. So I don't count those sessions
Ornietv Posted July 21, 2019 #19 Posted July 21, 2019 a true gambler stops when he either has 0 or cashout a huge win thats me lol. many times i been turning 10$ into 500$ aiming for 1000+ even tho winning, not reaching my goal losing patience and , lose all! or i been making 10$ into 2.500$ one tneh stopped.. its all about mood and luck i guess, but no i dont do breaks, only whenever i feel too
cryptofly Posted September 17, 2019 #20 Posted September 17, 2019 I just want to bring back this topic because hours ago I got busted because I did not followed this important rule which is to, no matter what, respect your strategy limits. It is very important to this because is the only way that will allow for you to come back again and gamble and most important, because you will never feel that you are being cheated badly by a site. I clearly think that Stake is a transparent and professional site for gambling, but the fact that you doesn´t respect your betting limits will probably create anger and first thing you will think is exactly that, that Stake is scamming you, but is not like this. Most have a strategy for gambling and this strategy should include daily limits for those two scenarios, winning or losing. My opinion. Don´t take risks you don´t need when gambling. This is just my opinion, you can do anything you want with your money. Take care, good luck.
Ali saher Posted September 18, 2019 #21 Posted September 18, 2019 I mostly when play then I set a limit and time because I have so many works and I have not so much time for playing long time that's why when I start playing I play like 20 to 30 minutes then I take a break and do so other works when I again free time then I again play this type other thing if I play long time I not got good results the end that's why I play small session

Sometimes though when I do that, I come back and I end up playing way too aggressively though. I think my prolonged sessions make it easier for me to stay betting safely.

This are very important points, stop and break, while you are having a not good performance in the game but I would like to add another factor that contributes to define your lucky path which is to see how many reds in a row you are having because I am experimenting bad luck while playing Keno by getting +40 reds in a row so from now on I will set the maximum number of reds in a row for each single game. Follow the rules no matter what will guarantee for you to keep going to game.
