Aazzah Posted July 17, 2019 #1 Posted July 17, 2019 Hey guys! Wanted to make a quick topic on this... But what was the actual reasoning behind removing the send/tip other forum users button? I can only think of one reason why they removed it and this is what I think... I think it is because people/bots where creating multiple accounts and sending their forum balance to their main account. This is probably not the reason but It might. But I personally thought it was a cool and creative idea. i thought it was pretty useful. Can any mod/support member or even just a regular user with some knowledge about this inform me about why it got removed? Thanks! Have a good day
kaleemmalik071 Posted July 17, 2019 #2 Posted July 17, 2019 well i am agread it was cause of abuse i guess . and i think there is no need of that feature we can tip to any one on casino page minimum is 1000 satoshi . so there should not be a problem with that . and yes staff can provide details why they removed it
barbaris Posted July 17, 2019 #3 Posted July 17, 2019 The only reason that comes to my mind is the abuse and creation of multi-accounts on the forum. I have never used this button and therefore do not feel discomfort from its removal.
bobdole Posted July 17, 2019 #4 Posted July 17, 2019 No I think you are right that it was removed due to some matter of fraud. I can't remember if there was a mininum amount to tip, but I'm thinking if someone made tons of accounts they would send their balance to one account so they would be able to withdraw to stake. I'm also thinking if they keep switching accounts they would rack up thousands of satoshis and it would probably be easier for them to send it all to the one account the use the most on stake.
williamshennie9 Posted July 18, 2019 #5 Posted July 18, 2019 It was removed most probably due to nobody ever using it. I mean, I have never heard of anyone who ever made use of this feature. I would just withdraw the forum sats and tip it to someone.
Etude Posted July 18, 2019 #6 Posted July 18, 2019 As many others above has mentioned already, I would also assume that the reason the feature was removed is due to abuse or it is not exactly a neccessity.
Kate Posted July 18, 2019 #7 Posted July 18, 2019 Umm lol i didn't know that they removed it seems like maybe the feature was not used or even known by anyone or used by anyone kind of actually understanding why they did this .
wngo123 Posted July 18, 2019 #8 Posted July 18, 2019 Quote I think it is because people/bots where creating multiple accounts and sending their forum balance to their main account. This is probably not the reason but It might. Some people do anything for a few cents. I remember when faucet was 1500 or 1000 satoshi there were people creating alt accounts and claiming faucet and then sending tips to the main account. They didn't care that everyone saw on chat it including support. Back then all tips where public. They even got warning in the chat but they didn't even bother to read the chat because they were so busy with sending tips to their alts lol. Eventually they were banned one by one, but always someone new came up with this stupid idea of sending faucet as tip to main account. So annoying and stupid. I guess here people do the same, but at the same time you can only have one forum account and it's linked with your stake account. I don't think support allows alt accounts on the forum even if you have alt accounts on stake. I remember when I first signed up on the forum the first thing I got here was a ban because they thought I'm an alt account of someone lol I had to contact customer support for help and they fixed that problem and unbanned me so they are really strict about it.
kayke94 Posted July 19, 2019 #9 Posted July 19, 2019 well i think they removed it because there are alot of hackers active lately and everyone with forum balance has a change to be hacked and then the hackers cans end it to an account withdraw the funds and then just run away
polor12 Posted July 19, 2019 #10 Posted July 19, 2019 huh..you can still send tip to a different member. multiple accounts.. that would be pretty much a lot of work for some one to do, plus people wont have the time to switch accounts,, that seriously a ton of work.. but i never knew they took it out put i still can access it..
Babagucci Posted July 19, 2019 #11 Posted July 19, 2019 @Aazzah @wngo123 iits funny because I know Eddie was talking about the faucet, he was saying the reason they kept lowering the faucet was because of bots. He said it got so bad that by the time the faucet was just 1 Satoshi there were along the lines of 600,000 bots claiming 1 Satoshi. That's crazy, the bots attack the faucet and then would probably send it to one account. Scammers always find a way. As for the forum tipping option that would be the only reason they would get rid of it. Can you imagine if that many bots attack the faucet how many do you think would attack the forum. If the scammer didnit right he could rake it in from the forum. It's sucks because it's those few people that ruin it for everyone. It's the same reason the forum referral url no longer works, because of fraud
cryptofly Posted July 19, 2019 #12 Posted July 19, 2019 Probably because the main purpose of the site is gambling, and the fact that a user can find in almost any corner in the site a opportunity to earn without gambling can be a good reason for remove it. But no, I truly think is a bot reason. Bots lately has been giving troubles in all kind of industries. I guess Stake will find the way to stop it, and I will not be surprised if tomorrow we all have to come across with that infamous KYC stuff. Good luck
bajigur Posted July 19, 2019 #13 Posted July 19, 2019 I just found out that if previously in the forum I could also send balance to each other, maybe that was what the stake management should do to minimize many multiple accounts in the forum, because I see the higher the level of the forum, the greater the income of the sector. then if there are many participants who have many accounts that will harm the stake and other players who play the forum fairly.
wry Posted July 19, 2019 #14 Posted July 19, 2019 No inside information on this, but I expect it was being abused somehow, Stake doesn't usually do something to restrict players unless it needs to in order to combat abuse.
