wry Posted July 29, 2019 #1 Posted July 29, 2019 After the recent price hiccup it was fun to see some very positive news coming out of Square today. Square hosted an "Ask Me Anything" on Twitter and there were a lot of questions abut Bitcoin. Square came out strongly in support of Bitcoin, noting that it was proven, had been out for ten years, and offered a lot of possibilities for their company. As most of you know, Square's Cash app supports buying and selling bitcoin and recently expanded the number of users who could send in their Bitcoin from external accounts to the app. Very exciting! It was nice to see such strong corporate support for Bitcoin. Does anyone have the Square Cash app and use it for Bitcoin? I am looking into this immediately, as I smell opportunity. Glad to see the continued adaptation of crypto in the larger market; even with the world rocked in Bitcoin's wake, there are a lot of companies sleeping on Bitcoin's potential.

I do know EXACTLY what you mean, the module to allow you to swipe credit cards and accept them. I just was checking out the square cash app and they allow you to send 10K USD worth of BTC a day to the app. Just outstanding. I'm very close to starting to use it and get the free debit card that goes with it! Exciting times!
Magyka Posted August 1, 2019 #4 Posted August 1, 2019 It's crazy how efficient the options are getting in the US and UK where the government is trying to clamp down on crypto but down the southern hemisphere are best option is still local bitcoin for a quick trade.
williamshennie9 Posted August 6, 2019 #5 Posted August 6, 2019 Well that is great news! I mean, the more businesses and companies that express support for bitcoin and other cryptos, the better in my opinion, because it creates more trust amongst the public of the crypto world.

Agree with your comments. More and more large businesses are exposed very close to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I think just a few more years, all countries in the world will legalize Bitcoin
nuuuitsjdragon Posted August 6, 2019 #7 Posted August 6, 2019 More corporate companies on the bandwagon, which is an awesome endeavour! This should only help to boost the positive outlook for BTC in the long run... great news.

I'm glad that more and more businesses adopt bitcoin. Still the progress is very slow. I could see bitcoin adoption in many other places. I think businesses should do it as soon as possible before governments will go after cryptocurrencies. Once crypto will be everywhere it would be difficult to ban because people would protest.

With 10 minute block times, it just doesn't make sense. Most thinking is that Bitcoin will be something like gold that is useful to hold but not really used in day to day transactions. Maybe a good mix of both. I do agree that national governments seem to be against Bitcoin, it costs them control, which they do not like, so to see mainstream use like with Square, it's a good thing.
