Kate Posted August 1, 2019 #1 Posted August 1, 2019 So you all would know that stake has a good amount of users who play on the site every single day and there are more people that come in more every single day so i was thinking would it be possible for stake to release a live member count of the players in the site ? Wouldnt this be cool ? Like to know in a time frame of minutes or seconds how many new people are coming into the site ? I think it would be a great touch of a feature to the site.
williamshennie9 Posted August 1, 2019 #2 Posted August 1, 2019 There is a section on the forum where it says who the newest members are. But I think Stake has many dormant accounts which are created, and never used again. There are lots of alts too.

But everyone has a ton of alt accounts so it would be hard to sift through them and actually tally together the actual amount of players. It would be interesting to track the growth of stake's player base along the months to see how far it has come!

It is a lot more complicated to actually show how many people are playing on the site, compared to how many account are active on the site. For example, someone might leave stake on in the browser accidentally and they aren’t actually playing on the site. I know many people that are like this and it would show an untrue number of the players on the site. I know a site that used to utilise this feature and it has just had a negative impact on them. This site used to have 3000+ people shown on the site when it was at its peak popularity. However, now the site only shows that there are only 300 people on the site, showing their decline in popularity. This could be shameful for a site as it shows how it isn’t popular.

There is a counter on how many people are in the chat. It's always impressing usually over 1000. Since you join chat automatically when you login into the game I guess most people don't leave chat. They don't care or don't know how to do it, so this counter actually is showing how many people are there on the website at the very moment, more or less.. When it comes to other live counter I don't think it is necessary and during quiet hours or days stake wouldn't be interested in letting people know that less people are gambling. I don't actually care, so for me it doesn't really matter if there is such counter or not, I think the most important is how many of those people are betting, how and if they win or loose and that we can see under "All bets" tab. We can see all the bets made from people on the site and I think this is the most important thing in this subject. We can see that website is real, people are real and someone is loosing or winning and we can even see how they do this.

I don’t think it’s a need for site. Site is being lagging with a serious needs feature for site. That kind of addon will made more lag spike to us . Btw you can check members live counter for forum and that’s will more accurate count for members because of multi accounts restriction .

But in this case of being able to create as many accounts as you want just doesn't have any use. there probably are massive amount of abandoned accounts of scammers and there are plenty of alt accounts. So I personally dont see any use of adding a live member count section
