So i was getting a payment from a customer for like 150 USD into my wallet and i had forgotten i lost the 2FA for that wallet so i thought that the money was gone and i tried my best to retrive but i couldnt. Then two days ago while going through my notepad i saw a secret phase password which could unlock my wallet and it did actually work. And i came back to 200 USD and a whole profit of 50 USD . So i guess lost coins are not always lost and there could be a way to retrive them .
williamshennie9 Posted August 4, 2019 #2 Posted August 4, 2019 It all depends how you lost the coins. You just got lucky to have found that recovery phrase so that you could access your coins. If you lost the notepad you would never see those coins again.

I buried a metal case with a hardware wallet in my back yard. and you know I don't remember how much BTC is on it, where I buried it. It's quite odd of me, course I was buying a lot of drugs off silk road at the time. So someday i'll find it im sure and who knows how much BTC ill come back to.
SLFJ Posted August 4, 2019 #4 Posted August 4, 2019 Agreed with william, but sometimes you are just too lucky, because my wallet includes a very long seed so it has an awesome security, I wouldn't complain if I lost the wallet, just because of my dumb head I would factiry reset my PC or some stuff, I still would have my seed saved on my other 2 phones, so if I would've lost one, I would have the second one, just to secure my crypto. barbaris Posted August 6, 2019 #8 Posted August 6, 2019 Unfortunately, I used to often lose passwords and secret phrases and I lost a lot, because I just didn’t write to a notebook, but kept everything on a removable disk or in my head. But when my disk was stolen from me, and I began to keep a paper notebook, and this seems to me the best way to save everything.
polor12 Posted August 6, 2019 #9 Posted August 6, 2019 thats one security the wallet will always have.. an unique password that you should always keep somewhere around if you forgotten your pw.. and if someone tries to hack it but cant.. that is really one of the best feature that the btc wallet has,,

So i guess lost coins are not always lost and there could be a way to retrive them . congrat to you finding the lost password for it, i also have this same experience for my online account, thought that i will nevfer ever access it, but when i look at my google account, on "kkep" its like a note pad saved on google, i saw my account username and password together on one pag of it, then im able to access it again, feel so good when you finally can access the lost account ,right?
nattekut Posted August 6, 2019 #12 Posted August 6, 2019 thats the reason why I do not use to many wallets. I only have 2 hardware wallets and I have all phrases stored on safe places. Beside that I have only 2 more online wallets as blockchain and Coinbase. both are also secured with 2fa but same as my phrases I also have the manually code of the 2fa in a safe place. so if I loose my device or gets broken and my 2fa is lost I just install on new device and enter the code to recover the 2fa
