The VIP 3x Sports Multiplier: Is it pushing you away from singles?

I know sports bets give us a 3x multiplier toward our VIP rank, but I find myself building stupid 3-leg parlays just to increase my turnover faster. Am I ruining my long-term edge by chasing the Platinum level-up bonus, or is the math actually worth the extra risk?
