Hey lovely people! 🌿 So my dad has a had a gambling problem for the last three years and resulted in my parents divorcing ect. Now he is telling us he is still waiting to be accepted by a rehabilitation centre for four months which sounds good but I have a feeling he might be just trying to put us off.. Anyways during my experience with that addiction ( I was a teenager) I wish I would have known more about it, its signs and how to deal with a problem gambler in the right way. I am a student now and really passionate about helping people that are going through the same as me. I want to prepare the loved ones more, connect them to get the support they need to minimise damage to the family. People forget how important it is that we as the people affected by loved ones addiction get the right support too!

So if you would find a few minutes to seriously answer my survey below It would be much appreciated. I need this to collect basic information about where the biggest lack of support that we all need when we go through this is. This survey is obviously anonymous so you just need to click on the link at the bootom. Thank you for your support I much appreciate it ❣️

No, I'm a teacher of my own self.

2 how are you related to the gambler?

Well, I'm a pretty much player myself.

3 how did it effect each family member specially in you case?

Didn't affect no one.

4 where did you search for help?

I still control myself good.

5what was most painful/frustrating about finding help for you?

Nothing, I did not.

6what kind of service did you recieve?

Not going to answer.

7how satisfactory was your experience with the service

It was like, meh.

8what kind of support did you personally require the most?

Friends support, definitely.

9where do you see a lack in quality support that is currently offered?

I personally don't. It's way enough of how they help already.

If you want to help the problem gamblers, so what are you doing here? gamble too? but I will answer your questions one by one.

1. None of my family taught me to gamble. because gambling is prohibited by my religion and my country. I gamble because of my own volition.

2. I don't have any problems with real fellow gamblers or online gamblers

3. As I said, gambling is prohibited by my country and my religion, so I gamble secretly without anyone knowing. my family only knows that I'm a trader, and I'm not a compulsive gambler.

4. Winning and losing in gambling is common. because all gamblers already know that the risk of gambling if you don't win is losing. so even if I lose, I don't ask for anyone's help, because for me it's normal. I am not tied to gambling.

5. Not all users are frustrated because of gambling. You can see for yourself how many gamblers there are here, but they can still laugh and joke in the chatroom

and I did not answer the continuation of your question because I have never used any services related to gambling

Alright ... I will answer all your questions as best as possible ... because it's about people who are addicted to playing gambling ... and I'm also right above it ...

1. have I been educated about gambling and how to recognize its signs before it became a topic in my life?
----- >> no .. I have never received an education about gambling in my life, gambling is my choice and I taught myself about gambling without anyone teaching me ...

2, how is my relationship with gamblers?
----- >> My relationship is fine with the gamblers I know ... I never have problems with friends who are my profession, because in gambling what is needed is a work partner, not an enemy ...

3. how does it affect each family member especially in my case?
----- >> I have never invited / involved my family in gambling that I do. I can always hide my identity as a gambler from my family

4. Where do I seek help?
----- >> I have never asked anyone for help, I can always solve my problems myself, even in gambling ..

5. What is most painful / frustrating when seeking help for me?
----- >> the difficulty of finding funds for betting ... because sometimes this economy cannot be invited to work together ... :)

for the matter of support ... I can't answer it ... because I myself have never asked for support from anyone else ... I choose my own path and I will bear everything myself without anyone knowing my status with what I do

Gambling, a social problem.  I wonder what is the source of addiction, depression?  Here my answers:

1.-Yes, my boss teach me gambling during our sales travels around the States, and we spent many hours sitting on those blackjack tables.  He never let me gamble, he told me to learn about the environment and understand how gamblers are motivated and how are desperately playing without success.  Then I had to tell him differences between these two kinds of gamblers.  Most of the time my boss loses the bets, but always stands up before busting saying....better go now so we can return tomorrow.  When he died first think to did was to go to a Casino in Las Vegas, sit down on one of those blackjack tables, set my limits and hit the jacks.

2.- In my country we can´t gamble, not live casinos only slots machines, so my first experience was through gambling with my boss. He was old and with a strong passion about gambling.  Blackjack tables.

3.- Not at all, just me.  Will probably teach those behind me if I see some of them taking the gambling direction.  But I will never encourage them.

4.- My boss understand the value of "self confidence".

5.- Nobody inside the casino or the gambling environment will help you.  You have to look for help outside.

6.-N/A

7.-N/A

8.-N/A

9.- Lack of support is always among gamblers, they don´t want you to leave.
