The Hardware Evolution of Crypto

Cryptography has long been a fascination of the intellectual elite; the generals, the alchemists, the playwrights, the spy, etc -- and what we are seeing now is the culmination of Francis Bacon's New Atlantis (whether you believe it or, or not xD). Just how far as technology been pushed in this gold fever of the digital age however? Is the ASIC AntMiner 17 the furthest hashing has been taken? And if quantum computing is already achieved how safe is the Private Key hash? Safe for most, safe from most .. Do you ever wonder, or hypothesise just how far the truly rich have taken technology- it is quite feasible that they have rendered the crypto-entire market under a centralised control- all while under the guise of liberating the market, and the individual consumer. Agree, disagree?
