iamsheikhadil Posted September 17, 2019 #1 Posted September 17, 2019 Psychologically I think gambling can turn a very self-centered person into a charitable one. Specially when that person loses a lot. For many, when they lose hundred of dollars on gambling, they think they could have bought something for them. Then they think they might have helped others with the funds instead of busting etc. So next time when they see a homeless person on the street, they help them as they know that the same money could have been busted if they gambled. What do you think about this theory of mine lol?
rdbase Posted September 17, 2019 #2 Posted September 17, 2019 I think this is a correct assessment on a gamblers point of view on losses. Thinking they could of spent that money on things they could of actually used instead of throwing it away on a silly bet made after its done. But this is why they started gambling in the first place. So to be able to buy more of these things and stuff. So it is a double edged sword really. 😕

But in the long run, we know no one can be winner. So in the long run, they are bound to become charitable if not they quit gambling early I agree with your points though
sheenazbay Posted September 17, 2019 #4 Posted September 17, 2019 it's possible, I don't know for sure. being a generous person is a very beneficial thing for many people and is the most powerful solution in overcoming various human problems on this earth.
wngo123 Posted September 17, 2019 #5 Posted September 17, 2019 Yes but only when I'm winning but gambling brings more bad things than good things in people in my opinion. Since most people lose then all those bad emotions comes out and a lot of negativity
SLFJ Posted September 18, 2019 #6 Posted September 18, 2019 Generally speaking, of course, I'm the type to think after I bust, that I could have shared the amounts and stuff, but tuen I proceed to bust before giving everyone I know the stuff out
zulfandina Posted September 18, 2019 #7 Posted September 18, 2019 That thought arises if a gambler has been trapped in his defeat, .. within a few hours later, he feels that all the money he spent on the gambling table could be more useful for someone who needs it, ... it's a regret that has no end
