iamsheikhadil Posted September 22, 2019 #1 Posted September 22, 2019 Is it just me or it's just a theory of physics (sarcasm) that time passes really fast when we gamble. According to the theory of happiness, when we do something enjoyable, time passes fast. But even when we lose in gambling, time still passes fast. Does it mean that we like the losses? Or is it that the brain finds relief in gambling no matter if it's a win or a loss?! Maybe hormones!
Xarv Posted September 22, 2019 #2 Posted September 22, 2019 I think it's just because we're so focused on our bets that we lose the concept of time. I actually am not too sure how much time do I spend everytime on stake, I just play until I am happy with the outcome or I have busted... Would be interesting to time myself to see how much time I spend on each session/game and how much in a day.

Try to spend half of that time reading a novel and you can read the entire library with that time in a month lmao Life's so short to do things we enjoy
Germaniv Posted September 22, 2019 #4 Posted September 22, 2019 Gambling is a psychoactive activity that affects the hormone content of a person's blood. With their increased content, it is easy for a person to escape into the world of illusions from reality. People who have problems, but no real support from the family, most often go into the gambling business. You can not forbid a person to play. Playing, he gives free rein to his imagination. The game is connected with the desire of a person to know the unknown and satisfy his curiosity, helps to distract himself from the problems, relax, which is a good way to relax while the person controls the situation. But when more than four symptoms are detected, it is already a disease.
zulfandina Posted September 23, 2019 #5 Posted September 23, 2019 I also think the same thing about it ... why is time so fast when humans are doing fun things ... including gambling ... defeat is not a pleasant thing ... that is fun playing gambling ... while winning and losing is the effect of gambling
Etude Posted September 23, 2019 #6 Posted September 23, 2019 It is likely due to the fact that gambling games are designed to grab your full attention and keep you hooked on it. When you are so engrossed with doing something within the moment, it is no big surprise time would pass extra quickly.
niki014 Posted September 24, 2019 #7 Posted September 24, 2019 it aint only in gambling it is in general if you are having fun it goes fast if its boring it goes slow it aint about losing or winning its about entertainment and other facts like if you gamble at home you are comfy and you get used to even when you see the time when you go in real casino there is no windows no light or whats so ever there is cigarettes and drinks and everything you can stay all day without having to leave and you dont know how fast time passes and you rarely look at you phone to see the time if you dont hurry in my city there is that one casino that offer everything and its all for free only to keep you staying and gambling they offer you any type of drinks they offer drinks they offer cigarettes they offer hookah and more stuff like that u can stay there for days and they will offer you whatever you want
Enzo Posted September 24, 2019 #8 Posted September 24, 2019 I think your brain just begans to focus on the gambling and you get into it and before you know it 2 hours have passed.

Its addicting and that the primary reason I guess no matter how we try to swing the topic. But I feel that time passes not so fast when we are depositing money and need to wait for it to get confirmed lmao. Hence it's totally on psychology i guess

I'm sure of that, and besides being focused, it also happens because you are too engrossed in the game, which ultimately makes you forget the time ... and if seen from the victory and defeat ... it seems like it can't be a benchmark of time to stop hunting ...
Thepug Posted September 24, 2019 #11 Posted September 24, 2019 As the saying goes, “time flies by when you are having fun”. I find that gambling sessions in the stake mega race go very slow because of how competitive it is and how I don’t want to lose my balance during it.
Goyst23 Posted September 24, 2019 #12 Posted September 24, 2019 Probably, its because u win, then lose, then again win and lose, and it is continuing till u cant lose everything

I experienced it ... despite all the problems of life that are so saturated and dizzy took me to the valley of gambling ... because I did not have the support of anyone including my own family when the ordeal came to me with various problems that were not never stopped raining down on my life
sheenazbay Posted October 16, 2019 #14 Posted October 16, 2019 time continues to run the same as usual, it's just that when gambling we will forget the time because the fun of playing. as we know as in a casino there are no wall clocks, you will never see a wall clock in any casino, it is done by the casino so that players never remember the time when they played

I believe it is a game, losing or winning we are playing. So summarizing this is a form of distraction, even losing. For example games like CS or LoL, sometimes we lose and still play it; Of course when it's a bad day, time doesn't pass so fast, but it's still a distraction and it makes time pass I don't know if I can explain what I think accurately, I think I'm still a little confused, lol
Ali saher Posted October 22, 2019 #16 Posted October 22, 2019 I think when we play then we not think about time and mostly when we win time passed so fast because on winning movements we feel very happy and when you feel happy you think your times go very fast and our mind very buzy in games playing so that's why time spend fast
Sumedang Posted October 22, 2019 #17 Posted October 22, 2019 I don't know if it's because of hormones, but I think it's because you focus on playing and thinking about strategies or maybe because of our perspective. I also feel it sometimes.
wngo123 Posted October 22, 2019 #18 Posted October 22, 2019 It's normal when we do something that requires a lot of focus from our brain we are so concentrated that we don't count time and then we are surprised that so much time have past.

I myself experienced it, so I always forget everything, the fun in betting on online casinos is really hard to avoid, especially when there is a race. nevertheless I still try to manage my time as best as possible so that everything I do is not completely gambling
Betwrong Posted October 23, 2019 #20 Posted October 23, 2019 When something interesting is happening, time always passes fast. Remember, when you are watching a boring movie it feels like an endless one, and vice versa.
Okseo122 Posted October 23, 2019 #21 Posted October 23, 2019 Hmmmmm..... Yeah would be interesting to know how much time i already busted into gambling haha... Specially when i just lost-lost xd If u win the time passes fast because u are happy that time but when u realize u lost everything u are going to be sad.
Mahdirakib87 Posted October 23, 2019 #22 Posted October 23, 2019 Time always pass same way same speed but sometimes we think we spending time fast and slow. That depends on your mentality. If we stay busy at any work mostly we see time going fast. But while it's dull time it goes pass slow.
