Xarv Posted September 28, 2019 #1 Posted September 28, 2019 Hello guys I was wondering if the majority of players uses the perk of being able to change the Server Seed for fairness. To lower the chance hitting a red nasty streak, I usually change my seed every few thousand rolls, although I might stick longer on one if I'm feeling it or change it straight away if the fresh seed isn't in my favor. First of all, I must admit that I have no idea how does these things work, I interpret it as like different pairs of dice in different shapes & weights, Personally, when I change a seed and I play it for a little while I can almost recognize it's character, rhythm etc... so I hope that I'm "understanding" the whole seed thing in the right path in my own way... How about you? Do you change the seed often, sometimes or any at all ? And do you know how the Seed(Hash) system actually works ?
Seoulmate Posted September 28, 2019 #2 Posted September 28, 2019 Changing seed shouldn't lower your chances of hitting a red nasty streak, they can occur anywhere on a seed, in the same way that you can get a 1 million x in the first 10 rolls. Personally my attitude is, "better the devil you know." so I try not to change seed. Profit can be made anywhere along a seed, so seeds aren't good or bad per se, it's your strategy that makes it so.

Changing seeds is actually mathematically positive since it opens door to a complete new set of games! But you never know since all games are independent, in the long run changing seeds is always positive but in the immediate bet, I think it is all random and the same luck! I change it once or twice a week now.
SLFJ Posted September 28, 2019 #4 Posted September 28, 2019 Every now and then but I don't think it's as necessary to do it so I stopped from like a few days ago, I realized that seed changes don't change the outcomes of the bets.
zulfandina Posted September 28, 2019 #5 Posted September 28, 2019 I often change my seed if I always lose a bet ... or when I see the number of nonce in that seed is pretty much already ... I don't understand what a hash serves ... I've heard that the numbers that come out when we make a bet are dependent on the hash server
wngo123 Posted September 28, 2019 #6 Posted September 28, 2019 today I changed seed 4 times and that was too much because it didn't help at all. Usually I change seed every 30 000 bets. Changing seed to often is not good too, but when you get the right seed and you start winning you just stick to that seed, but when you begin to lose and change seed then it never helps, so I don't know if changing seed actually make any sense. I know people who never change seeds on stake!
Thepug Posted September 29, 2019 #7 Posted September 29, 2019 I have never changed my seed because I’m not totally sure how it works. If any of you could comment to me here to explain why it could be useful, it would be nice to know as I don’t really get it
SammyA123 Posted September 30, 2019 #8 Posted September 30, 2019 I change my seeds if I feel they are being unlucky to me. I look at it the same way as if I'm in a brick and mortar casino. If one slot or table is not working out for me, I switch to another slot or table. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. It could be switching slots or tables in real life makes me fresh and exited again, so I stick to my strategies, instead of getting into a losing rhythm. This may improve my results, even though mathematically the odds of winning are the same as on the old slot or table. I feel changing the server seeds is similar to switching things up and starting fresh, especially if you have been on a losing streak. It could be wishful thinking, but really who knows :) Gamble the way its more fun for you!
Mahdirakib87 Posted September 30, 2019 #9 Posted September 30, 2019 I use to change my seed most of the time. Actually while I hunt on 100× I change seed much. Like after getting one or two early green I change the seed and start again. This is my game plan to get much green. But sometimes big reds streak ruin all.
vijaypondini Posted September 30, 2019 #10 Posted September 30, 2019 Never! I never change my seed because to be honest if one seed works well for you then you know the patterns of the seed and hence you play well and win well. Atleast that's what i think. Otherwise changing seeds every once in a while and you have to start looking for patterns. If you have a seed where you win and you know the patterns, remain with that
miya2599 Posted September 30, 2019 #11 Posted September 30, 2019 I just change my seed 1 times and always lose -_-, and never get keno 400x again
cryptonesiac Posted September 30, 2019 #12 Posted September 30, 2019 I almost never change my seed... current nonce is close to 10,000,000

If any of you could comment to me here to explain why it could be useful, it would be nice to know as I don’t really get it In short, it just changes the order of the outcomes you are to get. Suppose you are playing dice, with the current seed your rolls that are supposed to hit is already in the seeds it self. For example - 84.23, 21.04, 99.98 and so on. Meanwhile this same seeds if played on another game/each setting would give you your set of outcomes. So basically changing the seed just changes your outcomes. Just like how shuffling a deck of cards works (most used example here on Stake). If you think you are going to be lucky by shuffling the deck you can go ahead and do that, but you never know what would have come on the next card if you didn't "shuffle the deck". Say a 100.00 roll was to come on dice in the next or next 3 rolls and you change your seed - you wouldn't even know but you just missed out on a huge roll. Or even a 1000x on plinko. When I first started I changed my seed once in a while randomly till I got fed up. Currently I don't change any seeds and I'm on my 131k roll on the same seeds. I have won I think two 1000x's, few 100.00 and 0.00 and many many big hits on Keno and I can confirm that its all just luck after all. If you are having a gut feeling that your new seed will bring you luck in the near rolls, go ahead and try it. I just believe that if I'm supposed to get lucky it'll come whether or not I change the seed and that is why I don't anymore. Hope what I said makes a bit of sense!

Thanks for the amazing and detailed insight ! I like the metaphor of shuffling cards. Yes you're right, at the end of the day it all boils down to luck. Although I believe that when you change your seed, you get a fresh deck of card, and that it can help to minimize risk of busting. Example: There's a 1 in 100,000 rolls that you will hit 20 red streak, to me, mathematically, it's more likely that you will hit that streak with a 50K rolls than a 0 rolls fresh seed.

artizykristy Posted September 30, 2019 #16 Posted September 30, 2019 I usually change the seed after I get the payout that I'm looking for. Somehow in my mind to get 2 wins in one seed that I use will take a long time this is the reason I replace it. for the way it works I don't know just when you change the seed there can be Verify on a game that uses that seed
j240 Posted September 30, 2019 #17 Posted September 30, 2019 Hello there mate, I tried changing seeds almost many times every day! And it doesnt improve the the streaks , better dont change seeds. Its been a week now since i didnt change seed and i ve been doing good , not losing much and not winning thatm uch also. like what Seoulmate said in chat it really depends on how you wager. Goodluck man!
neich Posted September 30, 2019 #18 Posted September 30, 2019 honestly im changing my seed like up to 20 times per day. sometimes more sometimes less. but im changing it very often. i guess my max bets on a single seed were only like 5k bets
sugam Posted September 30, 2019 #19 Posted September 30, 2019 Well I forget that There is a seed thing in Stake haha I usually don't change it at all
niki014 Posted September 30, 2019 #20 Posted September 30, 2019 sometimes i forget about it and i dont change it in thousands of games but in most of times i do like max 500-1000 games and change it if i play dice it is 500-1000 if its keno anywhere between 100 and 1k games and i change it
rajamishra Posted September 30, 2019 #21 Posted September 30, 2019 hello friends when you in red steak every few minutes change the seeds for a good greens but when you wins anyone can't change the seeds.when i won i cant change the seeds but in losing streak change frequently.

I agree with this! Logically, it makes absolute sense that if for example you were playing a game like Keno and picked 5,6,7,8 but your seed generated 1,2,3,4 you wouldn't have hit anything. Changing your seed doesn't make it any easier to generate 5,6,7,8 that's for sure.
Ali saher Posted September 30, 2019 #23 Posted September 30, 2019 I win or lose I not change my seed because I think seed not affect on game results

Chances are the same with any seed and any nonce
