In this latest news story the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Algo Capital an investment firm that focuses on the Algorand blockchain, (I've never heard of it, have you? Must be South African.) had his smart phone hacked and the bad guys made off with "millions" of Tether and ALGO tokens. Total loss estimated at between 1 and 2 million USD. This is just what the guy carried around in the "hot" wallet on his phone. I guess if you can't trust the CTO, who can you trust to keep things secure? While the news article doesn't say too much about it, it does say that the Algo blockchain was apparently invented by a guy from MIT and might be worth checking out! I just think why it can and always happens acts of theft, fraud, hacking and so forth in the field of cryptocurrenci .. and why the perpetrators always escape.
