iamsheikhadil Posted October 13, 2019 #1 Posted October 13, 2019 What if one day electricity becomes scarce enough and not possible to extract it no more for the purpose of transport and household let alone Bitcoin mining? Is there an alternative way to mine bitcoins by using other forms of energy like heat and light etc to record the transaction into the public ledger blockchain? Or it will be doomed if there's no electricity?!
tae40127 Posted October 13, 2019 #2 Posted October 13, 2019 open stake site and choose the mines and try to control the seoul to concentrate then you win it easy mines just kidding
SammyA123 Posted October 13, 2019 #3 Posted October 13, 2019 I've seen some projects using solar and wind power to mine such as NastyFans. However, some of the equipment was donated for publicity purposes. I dont think the project has made much money recently from mining recently though and would probably be in the red if the equipment was all purchased. As more eco-friendly ways to mine become more affordable, I would love to get back into green-mining.
Etude Posted October 13, 2019 #4 Posted October 13, 2019 I am not so sure if there are any alternative power source asides of those power sources which generates electricity for the mining equipment to function. Maybe not currently but who knows what kind of innovative energy sources might be developed in the near future.
Grid Posted February 15, 2021 #5 Posted February 15, 2021 Actually there is a new coin called BTCST, with this coin you can mine btc without any computer or using electricity. I am currently mining, but I only have 1 BTCST so I get only 400 Satoshi per day.
