What will happen if someone plays at a gambling site using VPN?

So, many gambling sites are banned in many countries like the US of America. And I have seen many players from these countries playing using VPNs. So there lives a friend of mine in the US of A and I gave him my referral link. He said the site is blocked so I asked him to use a VPN and I am scared if the government finds out, what will happen to him. He is using a trusted VPN though. If anyone has any knowledgeable experience on it, you may share. I appreciate. Thanks :)

Nothing will happen. The whole point of a VPN is to protect your data from prying eyes. I use a VPN no matter what site I am on because I value my privacy.

Not to mention, the US government has far bigger issues to worry about then someone playing on a gambling site they aren't supposed to be on.

I don't think anything will happen. Gambling is illegal in most of the country. But people do online gambling. And government not going to track those online gambler. And VPN doesn't cause for problem.

It's really nothing to worry about, I've seen other people here who use vpn to bet on Stake because it's banned in their country, and continue to bet today without any problem.

I generally use a VPN whether I am gambling or not.  It helps to protect my privacy on all sites, not just gambling sites.  I doubt the government is looking into all folks using VPNs, and I would bet that 90% of them at least are not using them for gambling, but other things...

Modify one word on your question and the entire topic becomes taboo. B|

Nothing will happen unless the casino strictly adheres KYC because VPN is, after all, designed only or privacy and anonymity. Privacy-wise it is even advantageous because you will gain confidence that the site isn't sniffing on your sensitive data. I have seen sites where they actually restrict VPN usages because the user is exploiting the site's advantages (especially those who host games with a greater element of skill such as Chess or Backgammon) by concealing their location and then playing unfairly in order to gain broader pools of opponent on lower ranks (informally and similarly known as smurfing on online MMO games).

Basically governments don't care what you do with your crypto currency as long as you:

1. buy/sell it

2. buy illegal things/pay for criminal activity

3. try to cash out bitcoin without taxes
