Thepug Posted October 19, 2019 #1 Posted October 19, 2019 Today in the Stake race, I was down around $10, when I was at a 0.1 BTC (Which isn't profitable for the whole race). So, I decided to do a recovery bet on blackjack to get this money back. From this moment, my balance just kept going down. Below, is what happened: As you can see, I went down very fast with my balance and it all went south. I was left with 0.45 eth in my vault, so I went all in twice. For some fortunate reason, I won both of these bets and was lucky enough to get back to my original bank roll. BLACKJACK: 10,317,388,162 placed by ThePug on 19/10/2019 Wagered 0.45228673 Multiplier 2x Profit 0.45228673 BLACKJACK: 10,317,392,377 placed by ThePug on 19/10/2019 Wagered 0.90457346 Multiplier 2x Profit 0.90457346 I would never recommend anyone to do this and if you are down in parts of the race, NEVER try and recover your bets. I nearly left gambling completely today and the last 2 bets made me realise how I NEED to control my bank roll more efficiently.
Mahdirakib87 Posted October 19, 2019 #2 Posted October 19, 2019 Rage game kills. We loss our control while start losing. After having bad run we take many decision. I have also think to left gambling while I lost 0.1 btc in a day. But still doing it. Hope you can leave it.

Sometimes, things like this are needed to make sure that you don't do it again. I'm just glad that I could come back
barbaris Posted October 19, 2019 #4 Posted October 19, 2019 Yes, the restoration of the lost sometimes leads to much greater losses. Sometimes of course I manage to return the lost with one bet, but this is risky, but also sometimes the risk helps to return the lost and even make a profit.
sheenazbay Posted October 19, 2019 #5 Posted October 19, 2019 Your game is terrible, if I bet like you, my heart will beat fast. You lost 10 $, but what about your ranking in the race? Do you get more rewards than you lose? I hope you lose 10 $ covered by the reward race you get
Ali saher Posted October 19, 2019 #6 Posted October 19, 2019 Yes I think when you lose some your balance then you try to recover your balance and you play some risky game and you mostly your all balance, I think when you see your game is not going good you need to some break because if you play relx game then you do good

Those are hu-u-u-u-uge bets you made there, which I don't have the balls to do personally... You really lucked out and was able to 'recover', phew. Could you imagine what would have happened if things went the other way instead? Definitely not a feeling or situation I'd want to experience.

I know right. At the time though, I just wasn't thinking of the long term effects of my bets. I knew that I was down quite some money, so the recovery bets were my last option. I'm just relieved that the last 2 bets paid off and that I didn't lose everything that I have built up. Sometimes, it takes times like these for you to progress and learn from your mistakes
blueprints Posted October 19, 2019 #9 Posted October 19, 2019 lol if you did it once you will probably do it again. If your this impulsive and careless maybe consider not storing your coins at the casino and leave them somewhere safer. and not have too much on your balance at one time.
ThomasTV2 Posted October 19, 2019 #10 Posted October 19, 2019 Recovery betting is pretty much betting Martingale style right? I dont think thats ever a smart thing to do. If your getting destroyed, take your losses and dip out and relax.
FotisNt Posted October 19, 2019 #11 Posted October 19, 2019 That's so true, everyone I know who tried to recover a loss ended up losing way more this way, it's really dumb trying to recover stuff, I mean, it's gambling, you can't know when you're about to win or lose.
AlemaoHu3 Posted October 20, 2019 #12 Posted October 20, 2019 You were very lucky to have recovered! Most people do not accept the loss and try to recover quickly, and it happens that in most cases they lose all their coins. Glad to see you succeeded , but it sure wasn't the best of ideas. The end could have been another.
sugam Posted October 20, 2019 #14 Posted October 20, 2019 True.... it sucks to lose while trying to recover
Aiza824 Posted October 20, 2019 #15 Posted October 20, 2019 Theoretically (through math), the more you try to recover your losses, the higher the chance that you will lose more than the chance of actually regaining everything back due to the negative expected value of each of your rolls. You can only do this with almost absolute certainty if you re-deposit that is much larger than what you have lost. So yes, just don't try this at all unless you want to fly by the seat of your pants.

If you knew anything about me, it is that I learn from mistakes. By saying “If you did it once yo will probably do it again”, is just showing that you know nothing about me as a person. I have deposited $0 of my own money in to gambling and I am $3000 up over the past couple months from cashouts. I know my limits and I can’t imagine that you or many others can say that you are up from gambling
wngo123 Posted October 28, 2019 #17 Posted October 28, 2019 Sometimes it is but rarely. We should never focus on recovering what we lost. When we lose a lot or bust then we simply should start slowly from the beginning. I know it;s hard especially when we go down from huge balance.
Etude Posted October 28, 2019 #18 Posted October 28, 2019 I guess this is what is called chasing losses which is actually when you look at it rationally is a typical mistake done by gamblers who ends up losing much more than before just by attempting to make a "recovery" which instead goes bad. It is best in my opinion to gamble with a fresh slate and not to chase past losses or be affected by it too much.
allisonn Posted October 28, 2019 #19 Posted October 28, 2019 Yeah it's crazy how much is lost when people can't accept that what's gone is gone. Sure betting big might win it back but how many more of those bets do you realistically have?
Wildmonkeylv Posted October 28, 2019 #20 Posted October 28, 2019 Thats how they win, when you lose you might be on a lose streak and in few martingale bets you might just lose it all .
niki014 Posted October 30, 2019 #22 Posted October 30, 2019 why not? i would do it even if not in the race atleast if i am in the race i might up winning something mroe as well or lil bit of money to gamble to after i lose ( most likely xD)
