Cards and Symbolism Behind Them 🃏

Hello, community  

Just jumping in Forum to share with you some interesting information (at least to me, lol) that I recently discovered about playing cards.

• Did you know that 52 cards in a card deck represent 52 weeks of a year?
• 4 card suits represent the 4 seasons - ♠️♥️♦️♣️
• Red and Black colors in a suit represent day and night
• If we add the value of all cards in a deck (with Ace = 1, J = 11, Q = 12, K = 13), we get number 364 + Joker 🃏 = 365 days of a year

Never have I observe playing cards as a time measurement, nor connected this specific meaning to them, but it was an interesting discovery for sure

What are your opinions on this? Were you aware of the symbolic behind the playing cards we use almost on a daily basis? (at least here on Stake) Let me know in the comments below, looking forward to hearing more from you guys! 😎

Bojana back with the interesting and informative posts!!!  That is pretty cool and no I've never heard or thought about that. 

But maybe that is how the cards give us some patterns just like how history repeats itself

Me neither, until recently  Found the information very interesting too, so I had to share  

Imagine then Tarot cards, I bet they have even more deeper meaning than regular ones. I just recently bought a pair and been doing research on it slowly, still in the process of learning what each one of them represents

waw danggg I never knew about all these stuffs about cards ... All I knew was that there are 52 cards in a deck hjahaha...

This seasons , Day and night and no. of Days were never known for me to be existing in a deck of cards ...

in my opinion playing cards or more popularly called joker cards, basically have an interesting history. but if it's a matter of days, months or years, it seems like I've never heard of its history.
It seems like people are less interested in myths about cards and calculations, they just like to play it 😀

Nice topic. I hope my reply is equally as good! I highly doubt it but here I go...

I have heard similar things close to what you said and yes I absolutely believe it. When you think about it, a lot of stuff in front of our own very eyes are stuff in tuned with numbers and stars. For real. The number 5 for example basis for all math. How many fingers do you have? Toes? 5 and 10 go into most multiples.

The number 13. It is considered to be a bad luck number. A lot of buildings won't put a 13th floor in some building. Next time you are in an elevator of a big building, see if there is a 13th floor! You won't see it. Paraskevidekatriaphobia is the fear of the number 13 amd it is said that 10 percent of people have this fear. 

I am going to stop there. If you want an activity, google a number and ask why is it important. Everything from the Pyramids, to Stonehenge and the stars, to Fibonacci and his famous mathwork isnaround us all the time! Let's open our eyes and see what is really out there. This is an interesting point you have made I believe it is vice versa, people play the cards, and don't matter a lot for the origin of the games and behind them

Thank you, Sean, nice reply too  Yes, I am familiar with some of the stuff you have mentioned, numbers are all around us, basically world is based on them, we just have to see them and their symbolic. If you haven't so far, check the Movie 23, you will start seeing it everywhere soon enough after that  

Also, I did Fibonacci sequence for one of the Primedice challenges, they started calling me "Math Girl" after that, which was completely baseless, since I suck at math

I beg to differ, woman who likes MATH, (had to correct it, sorry!), is a turn on. Its challenging but a woman who cant carried on a conversation is something is a bad attribute to carry ya know?!

Thanks for the information bojana the knowledge I know is "the deck has 52 cards" but not something like this never heard of these kind of stuff

yes, I have read about the number 52 in playing cards taken from the number of weeks in a year, which is 52 weeks. All of the king and queen figures depicted on playing cards also exist in the real world. In fact, almost all of them come from royal families in Europe.
The symbols on the playing cards are club, heart, diamond and spade. The four symbols are also meaningful four seasons in Europe. Club is defined as symbolic of summer, heart represents autumn, diamond is considered as a depiction of spring and spade represents winter. In one type of symbol that is on playing cards, there will be 13 types. 13 types describe the number of weeks in a season.

That is what I would like to know too, who got this idea and why did he/she connected it to the big almighty Time!

I've been thinking about this for a long time. I have studied many interesting facts about tarot cards.  Even when a person could not even write and read, he used various symbols to predict his future. One of the most common divination, due to its simplicity and originality, became fortune-telling on cards.
