Ayesha0770 Posted December 19, 2019 #1 Posted December 19, 2019 Hello stakers is it me or you guys as well feel annoyed with this 2FA? It is said to be 4hrs yet I have tip someone then after 2hrs and going to send again to someone and 2fa appears again out of nowhere so annoying that every day you need to confirm the 2fa before you are enable to send a tip or rain in stake chatroom I think there should be an settings where we can put a time when ever we want or atleast a timer to set this 2fa on what time to appear again and confirm the 2fa, I dont think it is exactly 4hrs to reappear again. So what do you think?
Xarv Posted December 19, 2019 #2 Posted December 19, 2019 Oh yeah I can see how that can be tidieous and annoying, I think you should be able to set it up, maybe every 4 - 8 - 12h ? Or perhaps even a whole day of 24h.

Shekhar1992GL Posted December 19, 2019 #4 Posted December 19, 2019 I have one opinion on that but its just my opinion. -Now a days we mostly use google as mail service provider, -So many websites allow to register and sign in via Google (i Hope every website allow to Register and Sign in Via Google) -In that case we no need to keep so many 2FA. (just one 2FA for google account is enough right)
BidaManEris Posted December 19, 2019 #5 Posted December 19, 2019 It is there for a reason- security. But if you feel it is redundant you can always remove it. In the case of "Editing" where it occurs, it is where I would put my vote. There should be an option in settings where you can only put the feature at a certain instance or event (i.e.: logging in only, tipping huge amounts only, etc.)
BrianFix Posted December 19, 2019 #6 Posted December 19, 2019 I’m more worried about notifications. I generally think of the messed up. Previously, everything was important there. Types, messages. Now only spam notifications
Ventoli9 Posted December 19, 2019 #7 Posted December 19, 2019 I think it is fine like that, better safe than sorry
elyxdelrey Posted December 20, 2019 #8 Posted December 20, 2019 Yeah I do agree there's too much 2FA now; although I understand the importance of account security but the way 2FA works on Stake right now is simply counterintuitive with the 2FA code error. Sending a tip for example has become an unnecessarily long process: enter the tip amount > enter the 2FA > annoying 2FA error > enter 2FA again > now go back and enter tip amount to send again. To tip again 1-2 hours later repeat the excruciating process because 2FA only lasts that long. *screams internally*
defrostbyte Posted December 20, 2019 #9 Posted December 20, 2019 I feel that you can never have enough 2FA personally, however it would be nice to not have to use an authenticator app. Like sms 2FA or email 2FA would be way more convenient for me with the way I burn through phones.
sheenazbay Posted December 20, 2019 #10 Posted December 20, 2019 It is annoying, but it is very useful for the security of your account. what if your account is hacked by someone and that person wants to withdraw your balance or that person wants to do tips to their personal account, because it is very important 2fa in my opinion
nuuuitsjdragon Posted December 20, 2019 #11 Posted December 20, 2019 My god. 2FA irks me so much especially when it's an urgent transfer/tip that needs to be done asap. Of course, when faced with inconvenience, it's natural to blame it on the obvious culprit. I propose another POV, when taking a step back to think - if we can't even tip/transfer out easily ourselves, others will find it equally or impossibly difficult... a huge deterrent in the event of account breaches. 🤡
williamshennie9 Posted December 21, 2019 #12 Posted December 21, 2019 Yes it is extremely frustrating, and even though 99% of people want it removed, it seems the Stake team doesn't seem to take notice of it (or at least that is what it objectively appears to seem like).
