skillex Posted December 8, 2017 #1 Posted December 8, 2017 Recently i post about my ethereum wallet or MEW being hacked when someone selling my erc20 token on my MEW without my knowing, as Ive traced one by one on my flaws on where did I go wrong or careless for my ethereum to be hacked and listing them one by one is I suspected two of at least most suspicious activity Ive done that leads to my wallet account leakage. 1) For aidrop hunters out there never get deceived by airdrop coin most especially their coin doesnt consult or have bitcointalk relation, just like they are just on twitter campaign but not all i can say but just be vigilant. They are sometimes requiring in their requirements airdrop form "Put your private mew address" which is obviously the private key coz i know that MEW address is the public address and they are asking for the private one so dont be deceived ,just put your public address of your MEW ,never ever share your private keys. 2)Fake etherdelta exchange Careful on typing the etherdelta words on url because theres that fake etherdelta site which is somehow true and deceiving. The true name of the site is https://etherdelta.com
wilberthh Posted December 8, 2017 #2 Posted December 8, 2017 Thank you for sharing Skillex! Indeed, never give your private key to anyone. As of airdrop, I think we're fine as long as we don't give them our private keys or anything like that. Be safe always!
Ymerej Posted December 8, 2017 #3 Posted December 8, 2017 thanks for sharing this one i will keep it in my mind
Kargai Posted December 8, 2017 #4 Posted December 8, 2017 Thanks @skillex. I'll add that you need to be suspicious with people sending you to a simple google form for the airdrop. Same with those who only have a simple website with nothing builded behind, no explanations & co. I know Airdrops are very early in the process but still if they don't have a clear idea about what they plan to do and how ... could be because they just don't have any.
barbaris Posted December 8, 2017 #5 Posted December 8, 2017 Thanks for sharing. One must be vigilant and take all security measures. But hackers do not sleep
Snike Posted December 8, 2017 #6 Posted December 8, 2017 Private key. I think it got that name for a reason Jk. Glad you learned something from it
born2win Posted December 8, 2017 #7 Posted December 8, 2017 This is a good reminder to everyone that is always searching for free airdrop. You need to be extra careful where you put your eth address. Also always check if the exchange site like etherdelta. You need to always double check the link if it's correct.
