blueprints Posted December 26, 2019 #1 Posted December 26, 2019 I was thinking on how lame new years resolutions are because of how short they last. I mean they basically serve better purpose for letting ones self down then anything. Then i thought whale, i have to make this gambling related. OH! i know! So Stake has an opportunity here to not only help peoples new years resolution but also for once in their internet lifetime help gambling addicts or anyone needing a break from gambling by adding in a new years self exclusion option ! Like a temporary one or something so that people can get help starting the new years with a needed gambling break! It would make stake look better having https://www.begambleaware.org/ on the bottom of the page if they had a self exclusion option at some moment in its lifetime lol.
defrostbyte Posted December 26, 2019 #2 Posted December 26, 2019 You can always ask support to ban your account for a short period of time if you feel the need to self-exclude. I asked Eddie if it were possible to set up gambling limits that we could set up - to keep us from going overboard. He said that several people had brought it up to him, and that at some point in the future, Stake will have these options available. The developers are working on so many things for the site right now. I don't think they should work on anything else until they fix the notification issues and fix the other errors. That's just my two cents though.
CntryBoy Posted December 26, 2019 #3 Posted December 26, 2019 I could see that this may be something to help some people stay away for a while. However, there is no reason that someone couldn't enable the self-exclusion, but then get sick of not playing and just create a new account. There is nothing stopping anyone from creating multiple accounts here...
williamshennie9 Posted December 26, 2019 #4 Posted December 26, 2019 If gambling is a problem for you, then you can just contact live support and they will mute and ban your account from stake. That way you will not be able to gamble at all and problem is solved.
Ayesha0770 Posted December 26, 2019 #5 Posted December 26, 2019 I don't know if you are asking about our new year's resolution or you just want to say out loud your feelings on stake but nevertheless as William said it's better to do that
Hoffguy Posted December 26, 2019 #6 Posted December 26, 2019 Yes I think this is the only feature that is missing from Stake that all mainstream hugely successful casinos and sports books have (by mainstream I really mean non crypto so the ones that are used across the world by people that don't even know about crypto). Pokerstars and Unibet have about the best self-exclusion and responsible gambling features in the market I think! A couple of features I think would be great are: 1) The ability to set a deposit limit for a daily , weekly or monthly period and then you cannot deposit above this. 2) The ability to exclude yourself from the site for a number of days weeks or up to 6 months. 3) The ability to block yourself from certain games in the casino, or from the entire casino or from the entire sportsbook for instance. Then with the product blocks and the deposit limit have a weekly delay on resetting this so that if someone wants to reset it they have to wait for a week before the change takes effect. I guess this would have an impact on the profitability of the site but it would be a great tool for those players that struggle with discipline when they're playing!

But those who are trying to build something out of nothing probably wont go this route. But self exclusion just might work for them.
