Chinese business magnate Jack Ma is confused by bitcoin and is not interested in learning more about the emerging cryptocurrency asset class, even though his company is pouring significant resources into blockchain development.

Speaking with CNBC, the founder and executive chairman of tech conglomerate Alibaba, said that he was repeatedly asked about bitcoin at the World Internet Conference, which was held this week in Wuzhen, China.

“I said honestly, I know very little about it, and I’m totally confused,” Ma replied.

Ma, whose $38.6 billion net worth makes him China’s richest man, warned that if bitcoin did prove to be more than just a blip on the economic radar, it would completely upend the international order.

What you guys think about this? This is quite a news for me xD I highly doubt if he didn't invested on bitcoin though :/

But well I guess it could be, since his networth is insane! He don't need bitcoin anymore xD

"I'm not a bitcoin fellow," said Jack Ma. Despite asserting himself interested in a non-cash social perspective, he remains cautious about talking about the virtual currency that is brewing on international trading properties. "What I would like to discuss and understand is the value of Bitcoin, but the recognition, behind this virtual currency, is a respectable technology."    i readed somewhere :D

Every person in the world has its own stand about bitcoin. I will just say that bitcoin will  change the world like how it changed my life.

Ma is not interested for now. But soon he will be.

Imagine if he invested $1m at early days of bitcoin D: !!!! But even though he isn't interested on bitcoin, he is hella rich already. He don't need bitcoin anymore :D

I think Ma is just afraid of investing or trusting on digital currency alone as we all know Chinese people are hardworking and are dependent on physical or fiat money always and they are somehow not new to internet or cryptoworld although they have not still the full-trust of using it due to possibility of system hack, its ust my own ipinion :)

Possibly. I think he will invest in bitcoin if he can buy the whole blockchain system xD

I can understand him. From a business point of view he earns and spends a lot of time on his current projects, that's probably his priorities since it's something already working for him.

Maybe he just have to find some free time to read about it, he can make big money really quick ... or loose a lot. I believe he's the type of guy who want to really dig in something ;)

Hahahahha yeah that could be! But I guess he just don't care about btc since he got so many stuff to handle in real life. I think he want to stay focused on his bussiness  :)

When I would see bitcoin falling by over 4 or 5 thousand of dollars as a "non-bitcoin familiar" kind of person I would say no to it as well. I dont know Jack Ma as a person but if he really is China's richest man... I guess he knows what he's doing
