Kormit Posted February 28, 2020 #1 Posted February 28, 2020 There have been a lot of reminders recently, so we already have an option for a phone number in the settings. There was also a frequent reminder to players to confirm their numbers. What was the purpose of adding our numbers, like identity verification or a new bonus program?
Community Manager Stake Staff Posted February 29, 2020 Community Manager #2 Posted February 29, 2020 Heya, Kormit Thank you for making this topic and let me try to give you some basic information about it. The step of adding this is not obligatory at all, we respect KYC policies and the reminder was sent as a part of the Marketing Program our Team runs. To sum it up - some of the Stake promotions Marketing Team conducts and will conduct in the future will be done via this medium. It is also another layer of the protection for your account I hope this covers it and clarifies it for now. If you have any additional doubts, please, do not hesitate to contact us directly on Live Support platform. Enjoy your day! 🍀
GeorgeFeb Posted February 29, 2020 #3 Posted February 29, 2020 I hope you won't implement KYC like some old casinos, there's at least one I know that asks for the ID, that would be a complete bummer! What exactly should we anticipate, like SMS with some goodies like promotions, no calls I assume? Our cell numbers are safe with you? 😀 Thanks!

As for the KYC, sorry, I have no precise information regarding this, since such a big step depends solely on the upper management's decisions. Just SMS promos, yes, no calls, and ofc, all the user data is protected on our site, we are bound by the ToS to do so, so there is really no need to worry regarding any of it, especially this newly added feature.
evet Posted February 29, 2020 #5 Posted February 29, 2020 These new verification options would serve the purpose of additional security. Like in the past, lots of hacks has been reported and stake reminded us to turn on our 2fa authenticator for security
Alaina1001 Posted February 29, 2020 #6 Posted February 29, 2020 Phone verifications have different kinds, but there only purpose is to make our accounts safer.
sugam Posted March 1, 2020 #7 Posted March 1, 2020 Phone number verification is kinda messed up on Stake... Once you decide to verify your phone number and click on verification code request, you won't get the verification code at all ...
Nicol3 Posted March 1, 2020 #8 Posted March 1, 2020 It did mess up a few weeks ago but a few days ago upon trying to verify my mobile number, it surprisingly was a success. Why don't you go ahead and try it now my dear friend @sugam. Hopefully it would work for you now as it already did work on my end. Hoping for the best! Cheers!

It could be due to the country you're in, as listed on the Communications page we only service areas that are listed in the available country code list. How long ago did you try to verify your phone number? If the issue still persists, could you, please, contact us on Live Support so that we can pinpoint the problem?
amirkhanovka Posted March 9, 2020 #10 Posted March 9, 2020 It was very easy to verify the phone, although I just registered, let's see how the site will manifest itself, so far I like everything
Ufra Posted March 11, 2020 #11 Posted March 11, 2020 Phone number verification is using by Google since 9 or 10 years ago. So at now many resources are available for phone verification. So, every website using this method.

Slasher041 Posted March 27, 2020 #14 Posted March 27, 2020 I aswell dont think that phone verification is that much of a thing. You can fake it easily, but it's good to get away the bots from the website
Aiza824 Posted March 29, 2020 #15 Posted March 29, 2020 Phone verification is not much of an issue but only until you lose your phone. They don't call nor text. They only do e-mails which is still neat. I advise if you are a hardcore shark, you keep it on your account for additional security.
