Kargai Posted December 14, 2017 #1 Posted December 14, 2017 That's the question Angela Scott-Briggs asked in one of her most recent article. She said that the music industry is definitely a area where blockchain could be apply even if there is still a lot of questions about the how. She look at how Youtube and Netflix are currently working and how a blockchain could be enter in the mix to (maybe) put some concurrence there. And it can indeed be a big deal : Quote Blockchain technology is decentralized and could allow direct dealing between the artist and the fans. The distributed ledger on which it is based allows peer-to-peer dealings and secure conclusion of smart contracts. Music can be published on the blockchain database so that it cannot be altered or otherwise interfered with. Each record could indicate the owner and any licensee, allowing everybody to see and verify. This could solve the problem of music piracy which has affected the earnings of artists. Is the blockchain what people were waiting to end the piracy and pay artists according to what they want for their art without any external interference & co ?
barbaris Posted December 14, 2017 #2 Posted December 14, 2017 Piracy can not be won and blockchain does not help here. There will always be those who want to get something for free.
bigmaster23 Posted December 16, 2017 #3 Posted December 16, 2017 I think blockchain can secure the payment for so many things like an artist selling her/his project without any assurance for pirating their project this could lead to many person who might get interest with both bitcoin and music.
