Kariuki Posted April 20, 2020 #1 Posted April 20, 2020 Some years ago in our country there were this young man who was so stressed that he even killed himself, when reports were checked there was a case of sports mixed in it, there was the then most waited for , game between Arsenal and Manchester United, then they used to be the teams to that had a say , and he was an Arsenal fun and so when Arsenal lost 8-3 . the guy could not handle it and so he ended his life, it even placed the then arsenal manager to comment on the case that soccer is just that, its suppose to be fun. But how is it that you are so emotionally attached that you would even commit suicide, that was something to have a study on, it was so difficult for so many to understand. This is the case unfortunately with sports, and so it sometimes is attached to the adrenaline that comes with it, and that sometimes there could be human errors that go against the already perceived personal outcome in a certain game, but to death?? that is the question and so when you look at what happens is that we grow to love the game so much that it becomes a part of our psychology , that we have to take care of it, we buy stuff to hold our baby and make them succeed, but the intentions of sport is competition and that is what would lead every sport to work as it suppose to. So no matter how much you love a team, do not attach your emotions to it, I once got a heavy punch from my brother who is a man Untied fun when I celebrated a goal against them, this is emotions attached to it, we should allow fun to define the competition, then again this is what makes soccer and thats why they like driving your emotions wild because if they dont , then the whole story will just die. Detach your emotions and everything will be alright.
Aiza824 Posted April 20, 2020 #2 Posted April 20, 2020 This issue does not just go with Sports but in Casino as well. Even in real-life casinos, it already happened here. The guy lost $200,000 in one night. He walked away and after an hour he crashed through the casino's entrance in a gun rampage and killed 5 people before killing himself.
sahil777 Posted April 22, 2020 #3 Posted April 22, 2020 in this world every kind a people exist its not about soccer fans, but almost in every sports there are people who have deep feelings attached with their beloved game and beloved teams, in cricket game it happend many times when people got heart attack when their team lost the match.

Emotions begin with defeat, can't accept reality and act unexpected.
Ali saher Posted April 25, 2020 #5 Posted April 25, 2020 I think so many this type cases in all over world. I think this is not good if you lost money or game and you go out of control.always do anything in limits not cross your limits.
Baqee Posted May 18, 2020 #6 Posted May 18, 2020 Emotions and Sports should really not go together. I like my team and I'd defend them any day, but i still criticize them when they wrong and applaud them when they do good. And i never let it get in the way of betting, if they are facing a better opponent, i would not bet in their favour. Betting is about making money and emotions will make you lose money. And committing suicide is never the way out of any problem.
xenophobia21 Posted May 23, 2020 #7 Posted May 23, 2020 Such emotions might be from a great attachment to the team and I understand the dude. I felt that too when a team who I was, not just rooting for but also, anticipating that they would win them all. When they lost, I actually shed a tear for one of them coz it was his finest hour and it was the last time I saw his name on the big stage... Thanks Jimmy Ho! You made the fire phoenix burn and when you lost, the ashes revived the Filipino spirit! Together with sam_H, kuku, raven and eyyou! you guys paved the way to the Filipino Dota 2 scene! cheers!
Irungu Posted May 23, 2020 #8 Posted May 23, 2020 Sometimes separating emotions and sports is very difficult, have ever heard the way people shout and dance during a soccer match, those are emotions and we are all surged when it comes to sports we want to work hard and put together everything in the right perspective, emotions always fly when there is a competition, it only becomes unhealthy when one decides that its gone too far and they can harm themselves
Big Dallas Posted May 26, 2020 #9 Posted May 26, 2020 That's a sad story. My sister also loved her team to a point of not cooking if her team loses a derby against her husband's team. But loving a team to a point of suicide, is hurting.
