Half losses/wins are generally on Asian total/handicap markets containing quarter numbers like 1.25 and 1.75 Like on soccer over 1.25 goals, 1 is a half loss (you get half of stake back), 2 is a win (full payout). While with over 1.75, 2 is a half win (you get half of profit) and 3 is a win (full payout).

Mashfi already explained it pretty much. Half win and half loss are possible due to Asian handicap and Asian totals markets (1.25, 1.75 etc). Half loss affects your wagered amount on a bet slip and half win cuts the odds for that one match in half. Both could affect the eligibility for the bet due to minimum bet and minimum odds requirements in place so I had to add them in requirements.
