Kargai Posted December 26, 2017 #1 Posted December 26, 2017 It's a short list of predictions made by Coindesk (one of the main websites related to cryptos) for the year to come. They made 4 of them, the most "boldish" one is probably not the death of the ICO due to probable new laws about them. It's something lot of us can see coming and China already took some step in this direction. It's time to put limits on ICO to protect investors when they actually can be scammed really easily. Their 3 other ones are : Financial institutions will adopt digital assets, Blockchains will start to interoperate and The birth of hybrid blockchains Source : https://www.coindesk.com/death-ico-4-2018-predictions For me the most interesting one is probably the interoperability of the blockchains, meaning you could pay a company who only accept BTC even if you only have another currency in your wallet (Litcoin or something else). That could help the merchant to implement only BTC as a paiement method without having the hassle to add 4-5 or more cryptos for everyone. What's your favorite ? What's your own prediction if you have one ?
neoooo Posted December 26, 2017 #2 Posted December 26, 2017 Thanks karagi for the valuable information you shared.
barbaris Posted December 26, 2017 #3 Posted December 26, 2017 2018 will be interesting in the world of crypto-currencies. I also like the idea of interoperate Blockchains. This will really facilitate payments. ICO must be controlled because in the market 99% of ICO is a scam. I would like to see bitcoin in 2018 an ideal Crypto currency without problems, but it's probably a dream.
bUZz Posted December 26, 2017 #4 Posted December 26, 2017 First they need to work specifically on improving the blockchain, because its still clogged as we speak and it did a couple times in the past. 220k fees for a transaction is just non-sense to me :\

It will be a storage currency, like actual real gold. Like we have a "gold standard" we will have a "BTC standard". And we will use BCH or LTC or another one for most of our transactions.
Snike Posted December 26, 2017 #6 Posted December 26, 2017 I only find the "death of the ico" prediction interesting. The rest I dont really care about but the regulations incoming for the ICOs can actually be quite scary. I dont want to know how many people could loose their money on them
wilberthh Posted December 26, 2017 #7 Posted December 26, 2017 Death of the ICO? There are lots of ICOs in this year, and I think it will be the same next year. But this : "The birth of hybrid blockchains" might be happening

I never minded about that, but that point is totally true, the fees are really high and having a "BTC standard" as you said, can be really good, so the price wont have much volatility and the fees will be decreased a lot. Best wishes, Happy New Year
