zia1201 Posted May 22, 2021 #1 Posted May 22, 2021 In 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz bought two Papa John’s pizzas for 10,000 BTC, at the time that was a $40 transaction. 😲 Today those pizzas would be worth $400 million, tough luck, eh Lazlo? But it was the first time ever Bitcoin had been used for the purchase of real world items. That day Bitcoin became, well, money. Ever since, May 22nd has been celebrated as Bitcoin Pizza Day.
Hackoob Posted May 22, 2021 #3 Posted May 22, 2021 when Time runs everything change, invest for a long term and "surely" you can profit after few years
fredo386 Posted May 22, 2021 #7 Posted May 22, 2021 Could also have been the day a guy bought 2 pizza with monopoly money.
WE5TCOA5T Posted May 22, 2021 #8 Posted May 22, 2021 Hm. Pretty Interesting. Bet he's wishing he'd saved his bitcoin and made digorno instead 🤦🤯😁😅
e_abrams Posted February 17, 2022 #15 Posted February 17, 2022 I love this story. That would be the most expensive pizza ever.
Abhi9099 Posted February 20, 2022 #19 Posted February 20, 2022 That person must have died when he must have heard the price of Bitcoin these days
crockez Posted February 20, 2022 #20 Posted February 20, 2022 2pizza for 10r BTC was great becouse nobody buy something yet for bitcoins. We can sell BTC for 40k now, it is real price, but when BTC will 250k we can`t buy it for 40k. Aluminium was one of the most expensive metal few ages ago, but now it is realy cheap. Everybody want to buy BTC for few $, but now it isn`t possible.
e_abrams Posted February 21, 2022 #21 Posted February 21, 2022 That is a great point. Hindsight is always 20/20, but at the time people had no idea.
