akki785 Posted January 8, 2018 #1 Posted January 8, 2018 Hello stakers, Today I got shocked when I saw this announcement of @Bojana Quote Heya, people, The giveaway has been closed now, and 12 people have been credited so far. It has been taking a lot of time, and not many of you have been actively chasing it. We appreciate your contribution to the Forum and hope you will keep on doing it no matter the content count. Stake Team will host more varied giveaways in the future, also some faster/shorter ones, Forum and Games related. Thank you for your understanding! 1 I mean seriously..?? They closed the giveaway without any prior notice. At least they can limit it to 50 or 30 peoples. But instead, they closed it. Only for this giveaway, I was spending my 80% of the free time in stake forum. And it's very hurting for me to closing that giveaway so suddenly.. I'm requesting @Dan, @Edward and other Admins, so they can start this giveaway again, and this time for fewer persons(50 or 30 persons).. If you support my request, then reply it.. Regards,
Dan Posted January 8, 2018 #2 Posted January 8, 2018 I don't run giveaways, and I don't provide the funds for giveaways. Secondly, whoever provided the giveaway used their own money, which means they are entitled to do what they want with it.

Edward was the creator of that post, so I'm guessing he's the one who ran that giveaway.. So, I'm requesting Edward to think the second time and start the giveaway. Please.. Or, just half the giveaway amount(0.005BTC).. Please, I'm so keen to win this giveaway..

Regards, As Dan already told you, higher staff has the right to close the giveaway if it is not considered effective anymore. It was taking too much time and not many were actively chasing it. This was THE notice, and it was closed and paid out to the people who have reached 100 posts till that point. It will not be reopen, but some new and shorter ones will take its place. As for being on forum only for the giveaways, and "spending time on it", it is completely wrong approach. Forum is here to create better sense of community and helps the community in every sense; it is not here for the ones who only have an intention to exploit what they can from it. Kind regards!
Shaniqua Posted January 8, 2018 #5 Posted January 8, 2018 Aww.. I am upset to hear about the closure of this giveaway/contest as well to be honest. I was chasing it for sure, but trying my hardest not to have a single post of spam on the forum hehe Oh well... what can you do right? Congrats to the winners...
wry Posted January 9, 2018 #6 Posted January 9, 2018 I totally agree that you can close giveaways whenever you want, they are not a contract, and I'm a big believer in "your coins, your rules." The only thing to keep in mind is how you do and communicate things. There is a good saying, "everything communicates" and that's especially important in crypto where trust is so important. If I had been close to getting 1000 posts then I would be disappointed - .01 is a lot of money right now. I'm interested in how you determined that people were not chasing it, after all the threads about "use the last letter" and the "never ending thread" suggest people were happy to post just to post. I had assumed it was partly because there was a de facto 1000 satoshi reward for their post (from this now canceled give away) and because you need 100 posts to qualify for some activities on the forum but maybe I am over thinking it. It will be interesting to see if those types of threads die out now that the contest is over. My plan was to make good posts and hope to hit it naturally in time. I don't think I'll post less or more because it's gone so no real harm done. "Your coins, your rules!"

Giveaway has gone stale while a lot of spam posts have been the latest contribution to the Forum, not the HQ ones (apologies to you and many who actually take time to "hit it naturally" as you said, and post meaningful content) The Forum Games that you mentioned do not enter into the post count, they are only Forum Games (as far as I know)
