They said it can be retrieved when Stake.com changes wallets. Great news but when I try to contact live support, the person there isn't being helpful and refuses to pass this on ... How do I get this fixed, I don't expect to see the funds any time soon but livesupport hasn't really given me any confidence that they will forward this on.

Exactly. it is the sender fault and you mostly cannot do anything about it. Consider it a loss and be careful next time!
