Moderator maverick528 Posted January 17, 2018 Moderator #1 Posted January 17, 2018 This 15th of January I listened to the news and was very shocked to find that Dolores is no longer with us. With only 46 years old, and still so much to give to all of us. So I wanted just to remember here all the beautiful moments we had (and still have) with her amazing work, specially when she was the leading vocalist of The Cranberries. She had that very personal vocal style, that was very touching of the heart. Several amazing hits of The Cranberries will live forever, from very slow and peaceful songs like "Ode to my family" "When you are gone" or "Linger", to the powerful "Zombie". As a band, they stayed away from the trend in using electronic synthesizer sounds, and their sound is very simple, with the electric guitars, bass and powerful percussion just joining the amazing performance of Dolores, the incredible lyrics, and all her beauty inside and out. Dolores also joined tenor Luciano Pavarotti for an incredible live performance of "Ave Maria", that was made in Italy for the benefit of children in Bosnia, and included in the audience Princess Diana. Nobody at that time in the concert would have ever guessed that this song would be used at Dolores own funeral service 22 years later. The causes of her death are still unknown, while there were some rumours of a suicide, some voice messages she left few time after her death seem to prove otherwise. The final results of the exams to know the real cause of death will be ready in April. She had three children at the time of her death.
