True enough. The only thing I would add about 2s, and why they are still in the 3,4,5,6 boat, you know the dealer has to hit when they show a 2. And when you know they have to hit, you can stand.

I mostly play based on feeling, not using basic strategy. Also in Stake, infinite decks are used, and in my local casinos, we play using European blackjack, which I prefer over normal blackjack, but I do not believe the same "basic strategy" applies

It is all a game of luck (ok, a bit of skill is involved )

black jack has been my favorit game since the first time i played i love how fast the game moves. Most dont realize there is much more to it than trying to hit 21 but its a game of skill much more than it is luck although some times pure luck cam make some amazing wins.

stake use no deck. (well, stake called it infinite deck but to put it simply, it's just random number 1-52 for each card for every card)

so the odds calculate should be very simple

for example: dealer have 10 + ? while you have 16

should you draw? first if you got 6 7 8 9 10 you'll busted, while the dealer face down card can't be A. if the face down card is 7+ he'll stand and you'll lose anyway

in this case we assume dealer's face down card is 2 3 4 5 6 and if you stand he'll draw the card you're suppose to draw

if the next card is A 2 3 4 5 you'll safe and got 17 18 19 20 21 while if you stand dealer will get 2:[13 14 15 16 17] 3:[14 15 16 17 18] 4:[15 16 17 18 19] 5:[16 17 18 19 20] 6:[17 18 19 20 21]

if the next card is 6 7 8 9 10 you'll busted and the dealer will get: 2:[18 19 20 21 b] 3:[19 20 21 b b] 4:[20 21 b b b] 5:[21 b b b b] 6:[b b b b b]

then we compared which one of us is less likely to busted from your draw

your chance to busted is 8/13 which is 61.54%

dealer chance to busted is 4/13 if he has 2, 5/13 if he has 3, 6/13 if he has 4, 7/13 if he has 5, and 8/13 if he has 6

there's 1/6 chance of each that he'll get either 2 3 4 5 6 as a face down card so combine and average those you'll get 38.46% busted chance for dealer

since both chance to win by dealer busted and win by you draw is the same 38.46% it's better to hit rather than wait for dealer draw and busted

I've kinda always followed this, but i didn't consider it a strategy, just pure logic. Although sometimes i take bigger risks (like hitting when i have 16) and sometimes it even goes well. But it's good to see i was approaching it the correct way. Thanks for sharing!

Heh. Even with a solid strat that would normally work playing Real Blackjack is not the same playing programmed online Blackjacks with fucked up algorithym. I mean ya in some ways it can work, but with computerized version where the system is set up to beat strats at some point, will fail eventually and end up being trolled. With the amount of times i have played this game here at stake, ive witnessed and experienced the troll Blackjack can do.

Maybe here in Stake it is pure luck, but when playing in tables is different as you know against how many decks you are playing.  Statistics comes automatically.  When the "luck" or the difficulty comes is with the way others gamblers play in the same table.  That changes everything.  You may have the correct blackjack strategy regarding the statistics, but if others players does wrong then comes the pure luck game.  My opinion.
