barbaris Posted January 18, 2018 #1 Posted January 18, 2018 I found on internet an old interesting story about which I have not heard before and want to share it here. One lucky student-fan received 20 thousand dollars of donations, just waving a poster with the address of his bitcoin-purse in front of the cameras on the game of the university league. This cunning fan painted a huge Bitcoin logo and QR code of his bit-address. He even used the Vanitygen address generator to add a combination of 'HiMom' (Hello, Mom!) To his address. QR code is like a retail barcode, counting which, everyone can send bit-by-wire to this address. A square black and white image is translated into 34 characters, which form the address Bitcoin. Bitcoin users never miss an opportunity to scan some QR code. Seeing the code on TV, they considered it directly from the screen and immediately started sending donations. And when someone posted a screenshot on the Reddit website, donations fell like a bucket, compassionate users spread the image and even published the address bar for those who do not have a smartphone at their fingertips. At the time of writing this article, 103 donations came in the amount of 22 BTC, which amounted to more than 20 thousand dollars. The sums of the pair of donations were huge and amounted to 4-5 thousand dollars each. The user under the name bitcoinpitcher2, who turned out to be the most needy student, was dumbfounded: "I did not expect this to happen." Despite the fact that he demonstrated a good knowledge of bitcohn technologies, he writes that "he is still learning to use Bitcoin "And, like any other suddenly grown rich bitoyaner, asks advice on how to secure your wallet. The reddit users soon filled it with useful hints. After the amount reached 2 BTC, bitcoinpitcher2 promised to donate the subsequent money to the homeless shelter in Florida Sean's Outpost and other charitable purposes. He's writing: I'm not a bit of a millionaire. I read about this topic a couple of years ago, but I did nothing until the hype in the press made me look more closely. I saw how quickly bikoyun infrastructure was growing, and I considered my poster a joke, not expecting it to work. He admitted that perhaps the number of donations increased after he promised to give the rest of the money to charity, adding later: "I think that a large amount came because I said so. Now the money will go to a good deed. " Nevertheless, this is another free promotion for the Bitcoin system. When such cases become widely known, other people take note of how quickly and easily a huge amount of money from thousands of donors comes to the bit-account, without any commissions, overheads and bank charges.
