Why do people bet on player props? (Badbeat whining)

Just had a real burner... I have only recently started placing some bets on NBA player props and got a really big bad beat tonight misses my 5 way parlay on Derozan over 23.5 points. 

They scored 133 points, and he almost sits the entire last 16 min of the game. 

I mean I really don’t understand why anyone see any value on placing a over bet on the stars at least not when they are playing a ”bad” team. As they just sits on the bench second half. This is the 3rd time in 3 days I missed a parlay in this way. This one the worsed by far. 

Is there only value on under bets on the stars?  If they are up against a less good team I mean. Is this bench time possibility calculated in the pre odds for the player? 

I will probably never ever touch props bet again but just would like to know your thougts on props bets

Just bet the under on the stars against a team they will destroy easily.  Right?

Derozan doesnt just sit the last 16 minutes unless something was wrong with him. OR they were down heavy when he came out and the bench brought them back in the game. Coaches usually ride it out with the bench. But yeah. There was 100% something wrong
