Support VeljkoD Posted March 15, 2022 Support #1 Posted March 15, 2022 So, we have a few topics related to our pets, but no topics about wild animals we've encountered. I'm a big animal lover and I like to take photos of them whenever I can. So, I'd like to share some of these photos with you. Post your interesting photos here, I'd like to see different wild animals from all over the world 😄 P. S. Remember: insects are animals too! A dormouse (Glis glis) in his deep sleep. I've found it in the soil. Iphiclides podalirius Big larva Acherontia atropos. Hyla arborea Natrix tessellata

ubbey04 Posted April 8, 2022 #3 Posted April 8, 2022 Hmmm a very interesting topic to talk about .. not only sharing photos as well as refreshing our mind, broaden our knowledge about wild animals with their corresponding scientific names just like going back to our biology class 🙃 one of my favourite subject 😁. Only 1 thing I hate most .. "dissecting " . 😁 I've seen some players like @Bridgette013 @BAB05 have these kind of pet .

It’s interesting to see the wide variation of animals in other countries as there is little chance to experience anything even remotely similar in my region…
Kituna Posted April 8, 2022 #5 Posted April 8, 2022 Chloris chloris He hit my window and i had to hide him for few hours because of cats. Hirundo Justica Young one, i had to wash his wings. He sticks them in some kind of glue and cannot fly. Cossus cossus Larvae of one of the biggest moths in Europe. It was like 8-10 cm long.

Or at least your backyard... 😁 So, the first beetle, it looks like a female member of the Oryctes genus to me. And here is my photo of the European rhinoceros beetle (Oryctes nasicornis) Snail and worm are also interesting. The last picture, I think it's a bananimal 😁

Yes, some very familiar species. Hirundo rustica, Barn swallow, or we could label it as "rural" 😀 There is also a Delichon urbicum in Europe, very similar to H. rustica. We could label it as "urban". I took this photo of D. urbicum last summer. Cossus cossus, a well known resident of parks and forests. So, you also love biology? 😄 So, these lobsters can grow pretty big as I can see, up to 40 cm (according to Wikipedia). There are no raccoons here.
e_abrams Posted April 15, 2022 #20 Posted April 15, 2022 Racoons are wild animals so they can be aggressive. The even bigger problem is that they are frequent carriers of rabies, so if you see one in the wild, don't approach it.
Support VeljkoD Posted April 15, 2022 Author Support #21 Posted April 15, 2022 All in all, they are pretty cool.
