Maybe they thought that in the light of the easter holiday people would be more generous and spend more. Pretty sure there's psychological manipulation tactics used to trigger a certain reaction that will eventually lead to a result that they are aiming for.

Yeah i mean the have done some easter things like million race and a little easter promo.

But yeah i also had read  in the email, that they done monthly earlyer, because they wanted to have more space to make something big on easter and than we not even got a little coupon.
