Zulu189 Posted April 27, 2022 #1 Posted April 27, 2022 So, as well know, Stake has been struggling hard the past few days with DDoS attacks. To me, this is only the peak of the iceberg. The fact is that Stake's servers have been terrible for over a year. We literally cannot go a day without errors, and several days a week we get uninterrupted errors hours at a time. This is especially true for Stake Original games. I don't know alot about servers, but it makes no sense to me that websites like Youtube, Twitch and all social media can have millions of concurrent users and run perfectly smoothly all year long, but Stake can't handle 8k people online. Can anyone with servers knowledge enlighten me? Is it just that Stake is that cheap and cannot or don't want to afford proper servers? Either way, they better get their sh*t together or it's going to start affecting their business.
l1vEneeuQ Posted April 27, 2022 #2 Posted April 27, 2022 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDoS_mitigation Edit: Additional fact to think about - nowadays if you are serious about DDosing a site you have to pay a shit lot of money e.g to get access to Mirai Botnet. Thats also the reason why pretty much all DNM`s are constantly attacked - even smaller DNM`s have been known to pay something like 50k$/week to an attacker as randsom. So when the biggest crypto Casinno gets hit like this over all Mirrors.... there are basically 3 possibilities 1. State sponsored attack ( which doesn`t make sense with stake, since they are legally operating / at least not illegally ^^ 2. Some major Player like REVIL was just bored and allocated a huge junk of resources and money directed at stake just to fuck with them. 3. Someone with quite a good filled war chest & time - targeted stake since they cant make money if noone is gambling (same as DNM`s ) and they seem confident to keep the pressure going no matter the mitigating measures stake will take - so that in the end some sort of randsom Deal will be struck.
