If you deposit $1,000 today and lose and after 1 year you manage to win $500, you feel a winning emotion, in reality you have not been able to recover the $1,000, so this feeling of winning in the game would be an illusion. To be a real win and a real feeling, you would have to win over $1,000 because you would have recouped what you lost and profited. For example: A player has lost $5 million in gambling and after a month the casino presents him with $1 million, this player for a moment feels that he is winning something and is happy, but in reality he is losing because he has lost $5 million and won only $1 million, so that would be a grand illusion. So when outsiders see a casino ad giving away $1 million to some players, that's not real because the casino is just giving back a portion of what players lost to some lucky players.
