One of the largest manufacturers of mining equipment, Bitmain, introduced the new ASIC-miner Antminer X3 for crypto-currency based on the CryptoNight PoW algorithm, such as Monero.
The hash power of the ASIC chip is 220 kH / s. Bitmain plans to deliver in two stages. The first batch will appear on the market in May, and the second month later. The price of the miner from the first batch will be $ 11,999, but within a month the new Antminer X3 will be available for $ 7,599.

However, the leading developer of Monero's anonymous crypto currency, under which the new miner is imprisoned, Ricardo Spagny said that the new equipment is likely to lead to the centralization of computing power in the hands of one or several players. In this regard, the Monero team plans to modify the PoW algorithm in the course of the upcoming network update.
