Mazda3 Posted March 18, 2018 #1 Posted March 18, 2018 Specialists in the field of mining, crypto-currency and block-crap for the first time in history decided to stop the production of crypto-currency and join the world's largest environmental action "Earth Hour". Russian miners organized their event and named it "Crypto Hour". During the action, the organizers call on Russian and foreign miners to switch off their equipment on March 24 at 20:30 Moscow time. The goal of the "Crypto Hour" is to demonstrate to the world governments the need to create "ecological mining" maps. Agreeing to participate in the action, the miner shows his social responsibility. Perhaps, "Crypto Hour" will make participants think about the planet and start developing more environment-friendly block technologies. To date, the Bitcoin network spends more than 50 terawatt-hours of electricity per year. And if not to reduce these indicators, by 2020 the Bitcoin network will consume the same amount of electricity as the entire population of the Earth. "Earth Hour" is an international symbolic action, during which WWF calls to turn off light and household appliances for one hour in responsibility for the future of the planet. Last year became the largest in the history of the campaign - 184 countries took part in Earth Hour, over 3,1 thousand world sights were extinguished. According to preliminary estimates of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in the "Earth Hour" in 2018 will be attended by at least 30 million Russians. How many of them are miners who will support the initiative of "Crypto Hour" is still unknown.
