denize192 Posted January 20, 2023 #1 Posted January 20, 2023 The title. What could both the community and staff do better to battle the passive begging, I feel like the passive tagging begging on stake has become way too big, who is at fault? Stake for not moderating it harder? Players for tipping people that are passive begging? Lets discuss it
giovs777 Posted January 20, 2023 #2 Posted January 20, 2023 For me, it's easy to just ignore. But that's just me.

Ignoring is a solution for you specifically, but I am wondering more for everyone what can everyone do to lower it. I'd love @ubbey04input on this and @Faris

I'd love @ubbey04input on this and @Faris I think if you are to prevent it, It will be just the Mods being VERY STRICT on this and handing out mutes left and right.

I dont know if that would be the right approach because, do we want to see people getting muted left and right? Is there nothing we players can do about it to self police the chat for example. Thats how i am thinking
ByteMeTwice Posted January 20, 2023 #6 Posted January 20, 2023 It will never stop, Stake.com do not want it to stop. Sometimes the Mods are even involved in Passive begging in Chat. What I did was shut the chat box down, the begging doesn't annoy me anymore... 😊

The thing is I do agree with the proposal that mods maybe need to be more cuthroat and start to mute people, but I feel like is there anything the players can do to lower it?
jungl3 Posted January 20, 2023 #10 Posted January 20, 2023 Remove rain and public tips. 3 month ban and reduced bonuses for anybody outright begging. 1 month ban for passive. Chat would be pretty dead after that, which probably wouldn't suit stake and how busy they want the site to look.

I think removing rain is wrong but removing public tips, that its always private is 100% one way to combat it. Reduced bonus for outright begging? I like that idea.
dimspirit Posted January 20, 2023 #12 Posted January 20, 2023 Why do you care about this so much? Let people do it and those who help them help them. (and no I do not beg) but I've found myself helping people sometimes. It doesn't matter the story, it's just if I'm in the mood or not. Begging shouldn't be punishable in a space where people are losing their livelihood. If you don't want to see begging then go to places where begging won't happen lol This is a gambling site remember!
N8erade91 Posted January 20, 2023 #13 Posted January 20, 2023 It’s awful on the twitter page too, makes me not want to follow. Every post so many people leave their usernames lol but it drives lots of engagement

Personally because I feel like the chat quality gets lowered with people passive begging all the time. One guy tips his friend "omg nice flame" "do you remember me man" "cool tip bro" etc etc. Its just annoying whenever I am having convos with people. Helping people is fine, but why not help people irl, your family, your friends? Donating to a children hospital etc. People on stake are degenerates (including me by the way) You could do much more help elsewhere. But I did not think about it in that way good insight dimspirit! 2 minutes ago, N8erade91 said: It’s awful on the twitter page too, makes me not want to follow. The stake twitter is so fucking aids...
XeroF Posted January 20, 2023 #15 Posted January 20, 2023 Or just let it be free to beg how much you want. Lol like we are all grown ups and we can definitly decide who we want to tip.. I dont mind if 10 people tagging me when ever i post a big win. So dont see the problem at all

But I do appriciate your insight into it, its good to see other peoples perspectives

I've seen people write like and this is a non vip "I've always been your number one cheering for you" like. The passive begging is becoming crazy these days haha

If you rip to $0, but there's some small hope that is kept alive because you can beg and have another chance, it just keeps the addiction fed. Add that to reloads, weekly, monthly, promos, hanging around for rain.. stake has a prime location rent-free in many people's heads. Everything they do reinforces addiction. When you're at the depths of it, you're constantly checking your phone, streams for drops, being active in chat just for rain, etc, etc.

But at the same time, begging is not allowed and passive begging if frowned upon even by staff, sometimes staff even mutes people for tag spamming etc so do they really want begging? I dont know. But you have a point
N8erade91 Posted January 20, 2023 #22 Posted January 20, 2023 That’s the thing is that it keeps people engaged and sticking around hoping for that chance to get a little bit of money to win back or make a big win. Stake wins at the end of the day from it all

Like I agree with you that stake want the engagements, but does stake want engagements from people that cant afford to gamble? I dont know
youcheckibet Posted January 20, 2023 #24 Posted January 20, 2023 Short of making it stricter bans not much.
ubbey04 Posted January 20, 2023 #25 Posted January 20, 2023 No one can stop or avoid passive or even aggressive begs in chat ..its a normal scene especially in english chat room nowadays. Its like "international begging hub" .Players and even some mods do so . The difference is.. staffs have power to eliminate or give punishment. Everyone of us is a "beggar" indirectly. Whether we accept it or not . If you are in chat and you felt annoyed about it ..better leave chatroom or just go back to your local channel. Sometimes ignoring isn't enough because the lists you will put on ignore is too much . If you can't avoid chatting , maybe focus on your circles whom you can start "good conversations " regardless of chaotic atmosphere of chatroom. In fairness to some mods /staffs that I know . They truly exerting a lot of efforts to implements the rules with justifiable mute . Some tried to balance or understand the "thoughts " of the message . Giving the players "warning " or reminding there is chat rules to be followed . Some players are also "maybe silly /teasy in nature " . Some are just go with the flow .. like seeing tags in chat even they don't even know the player ..they will be like "cheer leader" or the anonymous bestie in chat.
