Do Casinos knowing your IP address affect winnings?

Interesting question of course! I thought about him and maybe influences and maybe not.

For example, in one casino, if I sit with vpn, I often lose for some reason.

But I think that anyway winning or losing depends on the bet made and currency. Аlso depending which client seed you choose and Server Seed

Well, I don't think so while the casino decides when you'll get a win and when you wont. Luck depends on house edge, if most players are losing and you're winning then the casino doesn't care at all.

Also can be considered abuse i guess and hence banned from Stake because you aren't allowed to use VPN on stake it is against their rules.

They can easily track your IP address if your winning a lot or streak of winning so i prefer to make it private or atleast use a trick to change it. They can easily change the settings and bust all your earnings in instant

I know it may be hard to believe, but with the kind of winnings that happen on Stake and Primedice, I think and I know both sites are probably fair, and they don't look or check your IPs to affect your winnings.

I am from a 3rd World country. If I want to go by your saying, I should be winning less and not much. But stuffs I have won on both sites, cannot be quantified sometimes. Though, I lose some, but I still gain. But I have not won any giveaways, maybe the IP only affects giveaways. 😭😂😂

I don't really get the point of this scam. Provably fair on Stake at least gives us some peace of mind.

But talking about this IP scam and betting sites in general, I think it sounds like a dumb scam for the sites to make. Because in every country there will still be Whales, just less I guess depending on how rich country is.

I think it'd make more sense for dodgy sites to check against betting patterns and reward higher wins to more degen style players, that YOLO alot, so they get publicity if big win for site, but know they'll get their money back too probly.

Uhm, I dont really think so, I mean, why should it? It's all about the house, when it collects a good amount of user's losses, then some users might start to win.

I am in the camp of believers that it doesn’t do much to affect your luck/wins-loss ratio and merely serve as a purpose to prevent abuse.

Moreover, IP nowadays would be the least identifiable part of your online identity as workarounds such as VPN(s) exist. Fingerprinting alone is enough to isolate your browser and recognise it as a unique individual and that’s hard to bypass without sacrificing some core functionality..

I dont think it does but if you won bigg maby the site will want to take it back and you might rip,I heard if you want fresh start just creat new acc and new IP.Personally i dont think it effects any thing.

I do not think this premise makes much sense that it is to have the IP addresses be discriminated in terms of chances to win in the games. If this is actually done anyways, it would greatly put the site at risk of being not legit and I believe experts in IT would had very quickly found out about it if it were by any chance true.

No it effects my privacy which in some ways is even more important.  I expect to lose when gambling but I like the privacy, so giving up IP info is a bummer.

If that is true then for sure I would never go to such casino. If they LET someone WIN then it means they DON'T ALLOW WIN the rest of the people. It means they are manipulating and the gamble there is not safe and it's not fair!

 I don't think IP has to do with anything, It's just a matter of luck that is on your side. Each bet is provably fair and as long as you change your seed from time to time, I'm sure that users would do well. I find that changing my seed comes in smartphones.

t i don't think stake has any of the above methods maybe winning are made randomly to random users. But there is one main thing i believe all casionos follow and that is HIgh Bet - Less percentage of winning.

I don't see why they would care one way or the other since you're spending money here and most likely losing it so as long as they do their part to avoid letting people from countries where it is illegal to gamble online then they should be happy. I think if they had an issue with a player they believe was cheating in some way they would just outright ban them as opposed to altering the outcome of their bets.

I have been playing on-line casinos for about 3 years now, (Gawd, time flies and money disappears.) 

 

What I have had people ask about the dangers of on-line casinos is "How do you know these casinos don't control your winnings and losses given they know everything about you including your IP address" vs Brick and Mortar Casinos who don't know you. ? Hmmm, true. 

 

Another question : 

 

"If  on-line are governed by gaming commissions on remote islands and not in our own countries, (Other than the UK Gambling Commission), how safe is it to say that our issues become pretty much useless when we have zero recourse ? I do know that Ask Gamblers help out players but should the casino simply decide to not pay-out, I read that there is really nothing anyone can do about it. 

 

You can't sue them without exorbitant fees in a foreign country/Island and writing to the gaming commissions in Malta, Gibralter or anywhere on those remote areas will help anyone in any way. 

 

I found those to be good questions and after searching I found that no answers, other than "they are monitored by gaming commissions and/or "Play at recognized casinos monitored by the UK Gambling Commission:, (which I found more credible than those governed by these offshore islands. I mean, after all, why would any reputable establishment open on some far away Island unless they cannot be touched by larger government entities ? 

 

I have watched TV programs like 60 minutes, Fifth Estate, Prime Time, Market Place and others that basically caution against on-line casinos due to the vague re-courses players have against these gambling sites. Basically, there is a reason why some countries are restricted from many sites and seems like the USA is a large restriction for many.     

 

Would Anyone, including Ask Gamblers, have insight or knowledge on these questions ?
