Senior Executive Director of MasterCard Ari Sarker told the Financial Times that "if governments want to create a national digital currency, we will be very pleased to consider working with it: "While they are supported by the regulator and have intrinsic value, they are not anonymous, meet all regulatory requirements, I think that it will be interesting for us to work with such a currency. Ajay Banga, CEO of MasterCard, last autumn announced that MasterCard will find "a way to be in the game", if governments decide to issue national crypto-currencies, all other crypto-currencies, according to the CEO, are garbage The idea of creating national crypto currency is discussed in several countries. Sarker also stated that MasterCard is currently working with Bitcoin under the pilot program in Japan and Singapore, but the program includes both components of KYC and AML: We do not trade bitcoins through the MasterCard network. This is a pilot program and we are fully aware of reputational risks. Mastercard also applied for a patent, which describes the technology for making instant payments on the basis of blocking in November last year, and the MasterCard representative notes that MasterCard Labs has applied for more than 30 patents related to blocking technology and crypto-currencies: MasterCard Labs is working on blocking technology that will support a wide range of usage options, including but not exclusively for interbank payments, tracking of financing obligations, the exchange of customer data in the fight against money laundering between trusted parties, etc. " .

williamshennie9 Posted July 17, 2018 #3 Posted July 17, 2018 It is interesting to see how different companies offering similar services have such different views on things like cryptos. I think in today's world, companies that don't adapt to the changing times will eventually fail and the ones that embrace change will flourish. Any other thoughts?
