MIT Tests Smart Contract-Powered Bitcoin Lightning Network

Since few weeks the U.S. university MIT is running some tests and demos about how Bitcoin might truly work at scale.

They made the experimentation of mixing the lightning network with smart contracts (as Ethereum) and not only the result is the ability for the blockchain to deal with millions of transactions (bye bye the slow transactions) but also to create more complex ones.

Even if they are very early in the process that let us see a bright future where transactions will be way faster than now and will help the use of Bitcoin at larger scale. Plus the addition of smart contracts on the BTC blockchain will help to offer more functionnalities, catching one of the main advantage ETH have on BTC right now.
