marleysdad got a reaction from lexxiluxx4 in How Long Is January and Why Does It Feel So Long?
January contains 31 days inside the month, and no month has more than that, so it feels so long because it is the longest.
But also January feels so long due to the fact that it contains the most amount of time of any month thst it is dark outside. Our perception of time passes quickly in daylight than darkness.

marleysdad got a reaction from StefanTl in 💰 What would you do if you won $1,000,000 on Stake?
Id pay off all debt I have first. Then I would buy an off grid parcel of land in middle of nowhere, somewhere with forest and mountains. Id build a self reliant little cabin, and then escape society and go dissappear just me and my dog. Probably have about half that money left, which I would smartly invest. Then use the profit from investments to provide capital to live. Never work another day in my life, and not have to deal with people at all anymore. Except when I go onto chat to be annoying.

marleysdad got a reaction from MilicaRa in 💰[$2,000 USD] Christmas Story-time 📖
The frost on this special user's windowpane looked like jagged lace, reflecting the rhythmic flickering of the Christmas tree. It was the night of December 23rd, and for the first time in three years they had christmas day off work, some time to relax. They had spent the last few months working overtime at their day job, saving every scrap he could to make them able to have a good night playing their favourite games.
They sat down at his desk with a warm mug of eggnog. On his the brightly lit monitor, stake was open. They was weren't a reckless player; they treated it like a special way to deal with stress, a way to unwind. Tonight, they had a special Christmas budget in their vault, that they had set aside specifically for one final holiday session.
The next morning, the apartment smelled of pine and cinnamon. When their little sister arrived, tired from juggling both school and her part time job, the user handed her a small envelope. Inside wasn't just a card, but a copy of the e-transfer he’d made that morning. Enough to make sure the sister continue with her school, instead of leaving to work full time, which was about to happen.
"You didnt have to get me anything, I know times are tough, what even is this?" she whispered, her eyes widening.
"Let’s just say Santa gave me an extra dose of luck this Christmas eve," they teased, pulling her into a hug.
The games had been a thrill, from plinko to mines and all of the best, but the real win was the look on her face. For the user, the stakes had never been about hitting the max wins; they were about the happiness that they would be able to spread this joyous Christmas day.

I go outside and smoke a cigarette and let the high tension ease out of the body. Then go back inside and do it again

marleysdad got a reaction from Biggie23 in Bring back rainbot to english and do something about code bots.
Ya it makes no sense, and is extremely unfair. First off, even if english chat has more rain and tips between users than other chats, it doesnt matter because literally everyone is allowed to come into English chat and possibly get the rains.
Secondly, because of the open access to all in english chat, it has become the begging capital. People from all other chats dont beg much in their own chats, they come to english chat and try to weasel anything they can from it.
Therefore not only are we not getting rainbot, those who are getting it can also take the rain that we have chance at, making no sense in terms of balance. Then we have constant attacks of passive begging looking for any scraps they can get. The result is that anything that could be received in english chat is under attack by everything possible in the entirety of chat. They can come and try to get what they can from the english chat, then go back to theirs and get the nice cushy rainbot drops.
Giving rainbot to english chat would be most sensible, for it would negate the amount taken out of english chat by the other chat users. Making it a double loss for english chat. And there is a small percentage who do the majority of giving in the english chat. Today chat reached 70,000 people online. It is probably between 250-500 people who you will see giving away in english chat, if not less. That means that these few hundred are basically paying out of pocket to reward the 70,000 users searching for crumbs. Which should be what rainbot is for, not taking advantage of the kindness of the few good people.
If this stays in the system it is, the constant barrage that will keep growing for any crumbs, will become too much for those giving. Then you will see the people that are the natural leaders in the chat, the wiser and more respectful ones, all dissappear from chat one by one. After that happens, there is nothing to balance the nature of the worst chat users. And it will tailspin into the most poisonous of chat rooms, a dark corner amongst the internet.
So stake, please stop hurting the few great people of chat, with this embargo of rainbot. Realize that this is unjustly unfair, and whatever the reasons behind this rainbot ban, it will lead to only negative consequences. The ripples of these consequences will reach all across stake, and slowly rip out the soul and spirit that brings users here.
