What do you consider gambling?

In life, there are multiple situations that can be called gambling. From picking a spot in the parking lot to staying up late and risk over sleeping in the morning.

But back to gambling. Do you consider games like poker gambling? 90% of poker is skill and knowledge, so is it considered gambling? 

When do you call a game gambling and when do you not?

I consider investing gambling too, it's just gambling with better odds for me

Anything where you're taking a risk really. Doesn't have to necessarily be financially incentivised risk either

Games like poker is also gambling imo because you never know which card will come out.

I believe gambling can be divided into two categories, reckless gambling and calculated gambling.

Reckless: dice/any game on here really

Calculated: poker

I don't categorize natural disasters and road accidents as gambling since steps can be taken to avoid them + insurance is there to cover damage costs. Where I'm from, with house mortgage insurance is required so yeah... not really worried.

90%? I would drop that number. While practice and knowledge is valuable, only certain poker games need it. 5 card draw for example, is almost all luck of the draw.

Now for the rest of your post. If you can weigh the outcome of a situation, and take a calculated "risk" it can be a gamble. What @irawk0 said about natural disasters and such I agree with.

Blackjack has insurance and it's a gamble taking it. Just saying. 😋

Blackjack has insurance and it's a gamble taking it. Just saying. 😋

Never get insurance for blackjack on here, just fyi lol. (coming from everyone who plays blackjack on Stake that I've heard talking about insurance)

Well for some a risk is already crossing a red light, for others a risk starts with risking a life. I don't think gambling needs a financial factor, it's basically just chosing one side of multiple odds...

When we take the chance without knowing the outcome, it is gambling. It doesn't have to be financial.

i think we gambling on everything in this world, i.e we go to school since we'r kids, but no one knows what we became after. not everyone became a professor, engineer or else. so many of them became a robber, tieves, and other criminal. we planned, but God decide.. so i said, we gambling as long as we live in this world

Gambling has all to do with taking risks, specially when you can't be sure of the outcomes.

Gambling to me in the simplest meaning would mean taking a chance for a chance at having more fortunes (wealth).

i consider gambling truly gambling when you throw in maney and have a chance to win it back plus some or lose it all, thats what i see as gambling. and by money i mean any fiat or crypto, at any value.

Life  is a gamble.  We take risks everyday in almost everything we do but if you really wanna "general" gambling definition or opinion well then I would have to say that poker and/or any game or thing that your placing money on is  what I call gambling.

Gambling is simply making what should be a tough decision with ease and placing your hard earned money up to the may take or may give foundation. usually resulting in regret and loss.

Anywhere you play with money from your pocket is gambling.. Whatever if it's by knowledge, skill, muscle strength or luck. And gambling result happened instantly within short time. Busted all or win much. Don't address business investment as gambling lol.

but business investments are actually gambling aswell. you can ask many large corporation bigshots if an investment in this company or this product or whatever is a gamble and i assure you they will tell you yes. in some shape form or fasion.
